    Just so everyone knows, there will NOT be a genre challenge for July. It will be one month off and then restarting in AUGUST.

    I want to get the 5 star genre going and then I will announce the challenge for August.

    Yeah, I agree that Shellshock 2 was more survival horror than historic shooter. Even if I did use its inclusion in HS to my advantage during Buffet 2011.

    You ammo juggle and avoid scary things in monster closets= survival horror. Even Black Ops and WaW makes some effort to be historical.

    Shellshock 2 would be better suited in survival horror. Because, honestly, play that on hard... and yeah you do a lot of running and hiding and hoping to survive.

    It does belong in the genre since it's a historic shooter, but no... It doesn't have anything to do with D-Day or WW2 (why the genre was picked for June). Black Ops falls into the same scenario.

    Money is sadly a factor in all this, but it's usually a lot cheaper to rent. My point was simply challenging dacoto's assertion that it wasn't fair to extend notice in order to accommodate those who can't afford to buy and have to rent. I'm instead arguing that allowing people time for GameFly etc. to send games out before the start of the month would level the playing field to a large degree, though obviously those who can afford to buy every single game are still at a slight advantage.

    But doesn't $$ com into any game challenge? You're in a 7 day challenge, and on day 3 so and so drops 1000 points in a game, and you either loose or run to Gamestop and purchase something to counter that if you already used up all the easy games you have on hand?

    What I'm asking is why is it that this is the only (set of) community event(s) that gives no time to prepare? You don't see STEI 2 announcing all of its rule changes a few days before it starts.

    A month would be nice, but all I'm really asking for is enough time to reliably rent and have the games arrive before the first day of the month.

    If that's really too much to ask, then I'll withdraw my request.

    The prep time really isn't bad since you have a few days before the actual start. Plus, it's a 30-day competition so you have ample time to acquire games during the competition as well.

    After waiting the first 2 weeks for GameFly to actually send me one of these games (they're almost all marked as low or very low), I finally ordered some which are coming tomorrow apparently -- far too late to be of any use. I once again request more time to prepare for these.

    Anyone else ever had problems unlocking the veteran achievements in Black Ops? They just don't unlock at all. When I played it on my old account after it has been released everything was fine but now it's just a giant mess :(
