Challenge update - 5/15/2012
The Gamerscore Challenge titled No pain no Payne has come to a close, and LSC MrSandman pulled it out... snatching the win away from Chunkeh Munkeh at the last moment with a final tally of 10,030 points in 7 days!
All 10 participants combined on the final day, they put up a total gain of 8010 points. LSC MrSandman added 3,780, Chunkeh Munkeh added 2,505, Roku750 added 1,280, LordChabelo13 added 290, inKtOiD added 90, MrsMunkeh added 35, acedawg4 added 20, and DARKSIDE1978 added 10. There can be only one first place... but thanks goes out to the other 9 for being good rivals.

Yesterday saw some furious gamerscore action. Here's the recap. Chunkeh Munkeh threw down and ended up with the lead today by earning an sickening 4,865 points... I am calling witchcraft on that... it just isn't possible... When you count it up, all 10 challengers gained 6790 points. Chunkeh Munkeh added 4,865, acedawg4 added 880, Roku750 added 500, LSC MrSandman added 295, LordChabelo13 added 230, and DARKSIDE1978 added 20. There are 2 days left, so... yeah... plenty of time. There is no need to be bitter at all I think for you. You did extremly well.
But while we both scored 10'000 points, only 50 made the difference. That's just crazy.

Well if I compare our Xbox profiles on the Xbox page I have the lead... With ridiculous 54 points.
BUT now the question is, when did 360v capture our points the last time. The sneak peek now looks like it didn't pick up my last 300 points. But before the challenge ended everything (even my arcade game bean dive) showed up in the list correctly.
The question is: who will be the winner looking at 360v?
In the end, you sir, did a freaking awesome job. With already more than 200k GS putting up that number. Respect.
Now it's literally just taken away the break down and with the gains showing I've got you at 9,800 and me at 9,876
Going by live score I got 10166 to your 10015...it all comes down to what made the cut.
I *think* I'm about 140 short of 10K but I'm pretty sure it'll come down to whether or not my 190 from NBA counts today as its been on there ever since the day after I scored it but still hasnt counted.
It was an awesome fight for it...wouldnt have even been close if my wife didnt remind me u had fallout 3 to use lol
If everything I played to this point counts I have exactly 10k. But I'm not that sure if it's really enough. That was one hell of a battle Chunkeh.

De blob 2 it is then. Thanks for the advise guys. Mucg appreciated. Its not technically a puzzle game but one of my "underrated" favorites is the arcade game Mercury Hg. It's cheap, got a good amount of content and is really addictive. Anyone who hasnt tried it should give it a shot
From what I've played de blob 2 is really good fun.
Totally forgor about the puzzle games: Ive been looking at De Blob 2 for quite a while every time I look through our library. In the end I playgames for fun at home. Dont get me wrong cause I can have tons of fun getting our mighty GS but at the same time I love playing MW3 on console or BF3 on PC online with friends because I truely enjoy it.
And if you want to play Minecraft just to build stuff and don't carefor the adventure and/or MP you could enjoy the 360 version
I'd rather pay 20 for the 360 version as opposed to 40 for the PC though. Free updates I can wait for. More just want to create my own blocky world.
Surprisingly, it seems okay now...so far. It made a little bit of funny noises for an hour while I fixed it up a bit, but it's working now.
By the way De Blob 2 is a pretty laid-back puzzler. I played it for about 2 hours for a mighty 0GS, but it was a nice break.
inktoid: Do you have any possibility to play Minecraft on PC? It's the far superior version because there are tons of mods, better multiplayer inclusion and it's not that much more expensive. If you have one or more people to play it in Splitscreen, the 360 version is worth it I guess.
Roku: Man that totally sucks dude. it doesn't really help I know but my release 360 that was working without any problems for more than 3 years got killed by my dog... What I want to say is I know that feeling bro =(

The damage seems surprisingly minimal so far, but we'll see. I may or may not be knocked out of this alongside it.
Since I've phoned in on this challenge now a new question pops up Minecraft or not to Minecraft. It's very fun but that 1600 point tag is a bit of a deterrent.

Yeh it's 4865 on here but going by Xbox.com it's 5325. I left it hour 30 either side as well

No, no interviews, no one's that interested in me lol. I did put up my collection about six months ago on my blog on TA but it has grown quite a bit since then.
Was it in an interview on TA where you showed your huge collection with some pictures or was it somewhere else?
I've had some of them just sitting on my shelf for a LONG time. I would have put up a lot more if MLB didn't keep screwing me over with freezes =(
I sort of collect Xbox 360 games...but most of them were bargain bucket/sales unless they were AAA titles

Yes it is. Got Fruit Ninja (for the third time even tough I dont have Kinect), Sine Mora and DLCs for Joe Danger TS: Cold war in week 1 and 3. Its made and promoted by Microsoft and you only have to send them a mail with your gamertag to them so they can check your cheeves. No need for personal information or login with your Live ID.
@Chunkeh: First week was so easy. 6 out of 12 achievements over 4 games. It looks like more and people know the site because its getting more difficult every week

Another FIY for everyone who didn't know:
At playxbla.com there is a challenge to get several achievements in a few selected games. If you have a specific number of those and send a mail to them you will get an arcade game and a dlc for free. It's made by MS so no scamming. It works perfectly and it's worth a look

not a single word of jap, but x360 has tons of great guides to help. most are easy 1k games.
im upgrading my jap to a slim, so i have my other jap console for sale! bought it brand new 4months ago.

@Roku: Thats the problem with LA Noire. There is an achievement for getting 95% of clues.
@LSC Aside from checking to see if anything's missable, I tend not to use guides. I think my puzzle game of choice will be De Blob 2 since I feel like something a bit casual.
Yes thats exactly what it is, very boring indeed. Takes about 6hrs to complete with a guide, but i think it feels loads longer because SOOOO boring!

Since I have little chance of catching up, I think I'll take a break and play some Puzzle games and start LA Noire.
I'll save the final push for monday. I think given the right game selection and a very long night before and after I can pull off a major point boost.

If I want to, I could yes. I forgot to mention that I did buy Fallout 3 during a Steam sale for the sole purpose of whoring. But I guess you can agree with me after you 4k day that playing those easy gamerscore games make you feel a little dead inside. And I got two new (non 360 games) to test today so I have less time for achievement hunting

Nope, I didn't pay a single penny for any of those game. See, most of these games are promotional copies I or one of my coworkers tested.
And, at our forum at insidegames we have a lovely thing called "Gamerscore-Chain". Everyone can post their easy games there, if you want it, they send it to you and you basically just pay the delivery. Like I said, aside from the fee I have to pay to send them back to the owner, I don't pay anything. In the last maybe 12 months I only bought two or three (used) games (The Witcher 2, Trials Evolution and MW3). Because we aren't allowed to sell any promotional copies we have a massive amount of games at our little office
@LSC You went and bought a bunch of easy achievement games to win 2? Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose since you essentially paid for them at that point.
@Chunkeh With scoring like that, I'm more curious to see if anyone other than those two tries for any prizes at all or just saves their quick/easy games for next time.

Letting everyone know the requirement for winning the Season Pass is 10,000 not 15,000. Apparently I still can't carry on a conversation and type at the same time.

@inKtOiD I know what you mean. I''d be more excited for Prototype or Witcher, but it's fun to join a contest like this every now and then and I enjoyed GRAW2 co-op...not that I have much chance of winning either game unless things dramatically shift in my favor.

I can agree with you about the Beta. But I've been at a UbiSoft Event last week where I played the Singleplayer and that was great. I was actually pretty surprised because the beta was just not my thing.
Well, the point is that I have the huge advantage of having a much lower Gamerscore than you. I don't really like it cause my old account was hacked last summer and MS isn't able to give it back to me to this day. I can use it offline and have access to my arcade games but it' really sucks that I pretty much lost an account

Future Soldier Beta was meh and Max Payne 3 scares me because of the new developer.
It's not like I totally need those games too so I see where you are coming from. But it's a good occassion to finally play those stupid movie tie-ins. And at the same time I'm helping my team in the GSP Marathon (3rd place for our team this week so far) and like you said, I'm always in for a little competition.

Well I'm pulling for you. Going to go back to playing BF3 and getting some small achievements. Sadly I took something negatively from banging out all those achievements yesterday, and thinking of a way to make maybe 4 or 5 the final day of the comp.
The sad realization? I do not really want Future Soldier or Max Payne 3. So me winning would be a waste because I would most likely hold another comp for them. I just can't help but love a achievement match that will be a good challenge.
Like I said I'm probably going to use Fallout 3 too. Thats why I'm happy that you used it too mate.
Hockey is extremly popalur in Europe. We do have Madden (usually not localized) but we don't have those college football games that I don't know the name of. What we don't have are Baseball games which makes me pretty sad because I used to play it actively.

Looks like inKtOiD is making a push for Ghost Recon. When it comes to Fallout 3 PC, I think the playing field is going to be pretty even. ;)

The feed yesterday was messed up. It showed 220 in Prototype. But the score today seems fine. 430 in Bulletstorm, 190 in Fable Heroes, 120 in AC 2 and 100 in Prototype 2 which add up to the displayed 840.
@LordChabelo13 According to the comments, chupamama and LSC MrSandman got some free points too.

Well, my lead was nice for the few hours it lasted.
Anyone else having issues with their blog? I now the Angry Birds points that have been counted towards this challenge were gained on Monday before the challenge started

I had to test that crap around the same time as the Green Lantern game last year. And Green Lantern is (especially in couch co-op) fun and has pretty easy achievements. Thor on the other hand was just a pain in the ass...

Yeah I know. But thats the reason why I said August initially with several big releases. I went by the release date on a Swiss gaming shop. But after you said its coming earlier I got excited and checked the official Darksiders site and yeah...
Thor is absolutely awful. Even for a movie tie-in its terrible. And the achievements aren't that easy too.

Well that sucks (dark siders 2) I just went by the release dates on play.com
Darksiders has been delayed and wont be out till August. Risen 2 and Inversion aren't that good unfortunately (at least on PC or in the Preview version). I don't think that they are really worth such a challenge. I do hope that GoT will be great as I love the books like a maniac.
Lollipop or Darksiders would be the rest of those I think
Lollipop Chainsaw, Inversion, Anarchy Reigns, Risen, Darksiders 2 & Game of Thrones all come out in the next two months (at least in the UK)
@chupamama: My score is messed up too here in the feed. Only got about 100 in Prototype today and I havent played it for several days. Hope the calculated score tomorrow will be fine.
@Dead Box: The only really big release in the next two months is Lollipop Chainsaw. I'd say wait till August because then you'll have some big releases to choose from (Alien Colonial Marines <3 )
The family (not immediate) had a bit of hiccup yesterday. I'm happy to host this challenge. Everyone is doing awesome. I'm thinking of doing one for another game in a month or two. Any suggestions on which game?
