Tony: lol . im trying but its bleak. during week this weekend i took my 1/2 functioning xbox and continuously retried to install a few games to the hdd (99% of the time it error'd out) i did manage to get 2 of them. lol

PLUS my Games on demand is screwed up. Something happened with my licenses, and MS is still got tier 3 working on it.

Vodka: I basically did this, piped the game audio through my turtle beach headsets, then I put the mic like, to my headset speaker.

it 100% id say 75% of the songs, but 25% of them just randomly fail.
Ive tried every way to cheat it and nothing

on karaoke glee, u can even use a headset as a mic, I even have a cable that 1 side is the MS connect for headset, and the other side plugs into an audio out, so i could directly pipe it into the controller, but, it said it couldnt detect a headset. any help would be great on that :)

Yay, I didn't fall as much as I would've. I had to go to Washington DC for a business trip this week, which is why you saw nothing but Windows Phone games. I got achievements in Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Mile High Achievement club and DC Metro completion club :). Johnny's XBox problem timing could've not come a worse time though, since it was the day I was heading to DC, and I might've had a chance to catch him if I didn't have that trip...at least I am back now and can give an honest fight...

And yes acedawg4 I do have the games to make a run at Johnny but what would be the point. If Johnny was not keeping you guys motivated maybe I would push the issue just for fun because I am not here for the prizes. I joined for the fun and the community not to try and blow everyone out of the water. Yes in an achievement contest with achievement minded gamers I have a serious advantage. Yes I have replayed some games off of my old tag but I would not exactly consider them to be the 2k6 sports games easy. I have 50hrs in NFS the Run, 21hrs in Timeshift helping a community member and 11hrs boosting Fracture MP with the community this month. I could have used that time for Avatar, Fallout3 PC, Michell Phelps, Penguins of Madagascar, Terminator Salvation along with anything I had not played on easyX360A's under 10hrs list. All of which I have on hand because I had been stocking up for GSPM playoffs. Crossboard7 and Adrenalin Misfits are the easiest games I have played this month and neither of those are on the old tag that's why I felt comfortable playing them during this. With 285 played games of course there will be overlap.

My creating a new tag was for others reasons and not exactly my choice. NOT to try and win this competition. I have made it very clear that because I do have the advantage in anything score related I did not want to be included in the prizes offered.

I understand that you may not be serious and I may be taking it a little too personal but I feel I have conducted myself with respect to the community.

second counts are generally not allowed in any comp and it's very obvious when someone makes one just for the comp.. plus that would be pointless. it's a race to see who can play the most crap games first more often than not, but doing it on a second account is just a waste of time unless the prize is like a new 360 or something. i can see doing it on a main account for gamerscore but on a new one just for bragging rights is wasting your own time lol

Xbox Slim - wont read ANY disks. Still under warranty (thats good) so thats gettin shipped off

Xbox 2 - Wont read about 75% of games i put in it. And when it does decide to read, i get about 20 minutes of gametime, and kablam, disc read error.

Last resort, Xbox 3, (i think its a launch console) was plugged into tonite, worked for 30 minutes, and is now RROD.

So, when they say anything can happen, they really mean it, just sucks.

Nintendo brings plenty of competition. the wii has outsold the 360 and ps3 by a longshot globally in both hardware and accessories.

Activision made $4.76 billion revenue last year, the xbox division of MS made $4.74 billion. An acquisition by MS would be extremely costly, and I don't see them doing it. They wouldn't be making that 4.74 billion dollars since the activision games would now be console exclusive and not include ps3 and wii sales figures.

Plus making call of duty an exclusive would automatically alienate anyone who only plays on ps3 or wii and sales numbers would not be what they are on the cod games in the future. Roughly 45% of mw3's sales came from ps3 members. The only reason they'd buy activision would be to get exclusive rights, and even then they'd be overassuming to think that people would spend $200 on a new console just to play the new call of duty. So yeah, overall bad investment considering what Activision would probably ask for as a selling price.



IMO Gamestop will be obsolete in 5 years. Eventually their little trade in value economy will collapse and people will stop trading in their games. As a result, customers have less credit at gamestop, and gamestop no longer has an advantage over any other store. Their Q1 sales of this year were a decline from last year. They have something like 40-45% of their profits coming from used games, and 30 something from new games. If people stop trading in games bc of lower trade in values than competitors, they don't get to make profit on those used games, and their stock drops even further. After enough bad quarters in a row, costs will have to be cut and by that point they'll be overtaken by (most likely) amazon or best buy.

Society adapts to pricing on things. Consumers always go where the best deals are. Gamestop has reigned supreme for all of these years because they had no competition and because their trade in values were ok. But last year and this year so far, they haven't really budged on game pricing when it comes to having sales on new stuff, whereas most other places have.

Wanna give me $1.50 for dragon age origins? I'm just going to go sell it to my friend and cut out the middleman. He might have even bought it from gamestop if i didn't have that copy to sell. (see how this works)

Want to pay $3 to trade in an old playstation game because it's worth a penny and needs to be resurfaced? Gamestop's your place


As far as digital only sales go: they're alienating a huge portion of the market and it won't work. A lot of people don't even connect their consoles to the internet. EA is already trying to do this and failing. Your game needs multiplayer, or some kind of an online feature that is worth the cost of an online pass, in order to correctly implement the online pass. EA can get away with this because of the games they make, most other companies can't.

The real way to combat things like this without online passes are to release worthwhile dlc packs at $10 a pop. There's really no other solution, which is why there are rumors about the next gen consoles being online-only with key codes similar to pc games. And I think companies would rather take the hit with used games than alienate that many people.

TL;DR - Ms buying Activision would be a bad idea, gamestop won't be a leader in used game sales in 5 years, digital only releases is not an effective way to pirate used game sales

i had a ps3. i honestly couldnt stand it. Im not trying to sound all fan boyish, but, i just didnt like alot of things. i thought the interface was rubbish, the exclusives are few and far between

but u know what i dislike the most? The controller lol. The design is fine, i mean, its a standard controller, its just TOO light. it literally feels like nothing and it irks me lol

This is gonna sound wierd, but i wish Nintendo would pull a sega (get out of the console making and just make games)

the guys at ta really don't have any information that you can't get yourself. the plugin that lets you see timestamps is something they probably use themselves, there's really no way to get a more accurate reading since it goes down to seconds.

they're claiming out of orders though, and i don't see any. all i'm saying is too much faith and not enough skepticism in a system that works like this is not always the best outlook, sometimes the ones with the power abuse it and the commonfolk either don't care or don't notice.

out of curiosity i looked up her tmnt achievements with an exact time stamp plugin for firefox, and she checks out. nothing out of order and the time intervals between levels are about the same as mine for the game

so the fact that 13 moderators unanimously agreed that she cheated it completely astounds me and makes me question their judgement

so yeah. anyone who is still in doubt about that, there you go. she didn't do anything wrong with that game.

Let's really break this one down to the core of the issue. TA wants to protect the TA ratio integrity on TMNT. Seriously?

Ace - here's specific examples of why I care. Keep in mind, I am 100% legit. Alice - I unlocked this game almost completely offline doing overnights for the major retailer I am a manager for (if you wonder where my never ending supply of garbage games comes from), so no timestamps. The only time I have played a game offline. Feed Me Oil (WP7)- My achievements are out of order because of a now patched bug. Up - my story achievements are out of order because I think I died during level 4's cutscene, and had to go back and get it. Those are the 3 that I can think of immediately, and I'm sure there's other examples that everyone can think of.

Honestly, I thought that Tony was kidding with his post about TA earlier in the week. Now, I'm perfectly on board with him.

I stand by offline gaming!! I do it all the time, so for me to be labeled a cheater due to that, or the "order" of the way the cheeve pop is complete garbage! I mean if you are cheating than im all for it, but cmon TMNT!!!!!! Who is THAT dumb??? I can see games like Tonys Gears or sumthin, then that will raise flags!!! Its like who would hack Avatar.....lol?!?!?!

But Im not sure whats been up with TA, seems like they pick favorites and let them off the hook easier than others.....(cough, cough, planting) but others that dont contribute to the site or use the sessions for feedback, get looked over.....

Now im worried because just today while boosting Hour of victory, there is a hosting 20hr achievement. First time playing the game, i hosted only 4-5 matches lasting 2mins long, and the cheeve unlocked......lol

i just did over gears of war 1 glitching onto me from my brothers acct while playing split screen, and while i was reluctant to do it, i'd rather lose leaderboard access than ratio calculations and all that jazz

some of the bigger names who are contributing a lot to the site are getting marked for cheating, so don't think you're untouchable. moderators are being lenient if you come clean about things within the next two weeks or something.

tony: well your supposed to get an achievement every level on the hardest difficulty, but it didnt pop, i found some forum and some guy was like "yah my game did that but they ALL popped at the end..."

He was lucky, i was not.

I NEVER have glitches, but since playin this tourney, omg.

Like even games that no one is reporting glitches im gettin massive glitches in.

@LSC i enjoyed them a lot. each mission took me at least 45 minutes plus the new dlc gives you new guns that some people prefer over the riot gun and such

How is the DLC campaign compared to the standard campaign Tony? I have to say I really enjoyed ORC playing coop but I'm not sure if the missions are worth the money.

And Spec Ops is an awesome game. Great story, solid gameplay and most of the achievements (920 of it at least) are easy and fun

Its actually really easy. The achievements that say vs cpu I got using two controllers somehow. I did half of it yesterday and the other half after work. Almost everything can be done 2 player. I'd pop it in if I were you.

I like seeing the racing games making appearances on the feed. Everyday someone is playing a racing game of some sort. Granted Dirt and NFS are the common ones since they are not as hard as some.

I might just have to stick to my racing game plan and see where I end up at the end of this.

also comeon man, play the game. it would suck to spend $10 and just use the level select to ignore most of each game and get like an hour out of it, waste of money if you ask me. you can totally get some enjoyment out of it, it's a fun beat em up

@johnny i used it. played Jap version of SoR1 and once id got to Mr.X i got booted back to Round 5 so had to play 8,5,6,7,8 and didnt survive the 2nd lap of round 8. would have been faster to just play the game start to finish. no idea if i got booted back to 5 cause of the level select cheat, the fact i was playing Burning Knuckle, or that SEGA hates me.

btw johnny, game companies sell online passes to combat used game sales more than piracy. Buying used is really no different than pirating a game in a developers/publishers eyes, it's still potential money they lost out on.

i can only assume that a majority of people in this comp buy only used or when games are reduced price, and that directly harms the industry whether you want to believe it or not. used game stores are the only companies profiting from that, and if you wait for dotw then companies make less on the IP and have less of a budget to make new games or sequels. if you want to see sequels to your favorite games, buy them new. the only way to get your point across in this industry is to vote with your wallet.

regarding dlc: anyone who pays for dlc for a completion has no right to complain about more dlc coming out because you're faking the company into thinking you actually like the stuff they're making even if you're only doing it for achievements, so they continue to make more. which is why i cringe when people eat up dlc when it's on sale even if they know it's not worth the money.

personally i only buy arcade games and worthwhile dlc and gamefly everything else so im not one to judge, but i'm just addressing things i've noticed around TA. people are too carefree with their money when it comes to cheevies imo

I would take a guess that it's either review copy or possibly employees taking copies home early (I know someone who does this).

But the two guys who have played it on TA have exactly the same GS unlocked and neither have played 10 games and scored 40% accuracy on easy so that suggests they played it enough to form an opinion *shrugs* only they know the truth....

they will be banned sooner rather than later though, don't see how microsoft will let them slide by playing a game a month and a half early

My only recommendation is to burn a cd with music from thps1/2 and copy it to your hard drive and play with that because the in game soundtrack is horrible and i haven't heard a single song i've recognized yet
