Posted - Sep 03 2008 : 11:45:28 AM Hey everyone! I thought up some of my badge ideas and would like to share them with you.
These are just some basic ideas but maybe they can help us come up with even better badges.
Photo Badge
- You have a gamerpic no one else has!
I came up with that idea because there are so many gamerpics on LIVE which literally no one uses. You can check it on mygamercard.net and click on gamerpic scout. So why not reward someone who is the only one on LIVE with a certain gamerpic? Just an idea.
Jackpot Badge
 - You have a 'special' gamerscore!
If you have a special amounth of gamerscore points like 5555 or 12345 then you will be awarded with this badge. When your GS increases the badge will be lost until you reach another funny score.
ROD Badge
 - Your Box is currently in repair!
Ok, this is just for jokes but how about making this badge couple with the vacation setting. Meaning you can manually activate this badge BUT then your blog will not update at all. Basically, it’s an alternative for the vacation setting.
Reputation Badge and - Your Rep is above/under 50%!
A badge which indicates your Rep stats? Anyone?
Top Country Badge
and and
 - You are ranked under the 20% of your country!
The 20% is just for this example and could be something different. But how about it? Does this sound interesting? Could be something like the 1% badge but its linked with your country on LIVE.
Though luck Badge
 - Participated in 50+ challenges but never won!
This is my favourite ^^
NEW Total days played Badge
     - Played over INSERT DAY HERE days!
The days from "Top 10 games" could be added into this badge.
IN Arcade Badge

Same as the normal IN badge, but only for arcade games.
Thats it. I'm open for suggestions. :)

I used Adobe Flash to make the pics. With vectorgraphics you can easily change the size of the objects without them losing any quality. w00t! |

Posted - Sep 05 2008 : 08:23:39 AM Yeah, it probably would turn into a scarlet letter sort of deal I guess. I had envisioned it being a fun "wow, you really like gamerscore" kind of badge, but things don't always turn out like you want do they? I'm really excited about the prospect of these new badges. What are you using to make them anyway Holys Gamertag? |

We also arent going to say what games are "Bad" games and make the assumption you are playing games just for gamerscore. Granted in challenges this is almost always the case, but it's not something that can be discerned automatically, and we don't want to scarlet letter people, for trying a game, or earning gamerscore.
You're probably right but we could make the requirements for the donkey badge as strict as possible.
Meaning there will be a list (like with the genre badges) with all easy gamerscore games and you will be 'awarded' with the badge when you have all 1000 points in at least 90% from the games on the list.
You could make it even more strict and include the played days in this. So if someone played Avatar in only one day it's pretty obvious he only did this for the points.
On the other hand; if you make the requirements too strict then nobody will ever get the badge and it would make our donkey pretty pointless.
lol...Fatty Chubs is never probably right in 360voice context, and especially with regards to badges. Fatty Chubs IS badges, as in he created the badge system and was the co-founder of 360voice.
Though one thing that has impressed me is that both ChangeAgent (the other co-founder) and Fatty Chubs replied to a suggestion within an hour of themselves. You've obviously impressed them so it's looking very likely we'll see some of these soon, and hopefully in Badges 2.0!
Score one for you, lol!

It was not meant to be insulting at all, it was in the same line of humor that the "noob/tough luck" badge was.
I really like that idea. It could be the same like the genre badges or the launch badge. When you play a certain amounth of 'easy gamnerscore' games like Avatar and King Kong you should be awarded with the donkey badge!
Because playing games only for the gamerscore is nothing to be proud of and with the existence of this badge there wont be as many people in challanges anymore who rent like 5 easy games just to win.
Here are three examples.

Posted - Sep 05 2008 : 06:38:50 AM Yeah good effort on these. A few of these have been brought up in detail in the past. Like the RROD, and we will not do features around RROD and something we can't pull from actual gameplay data. Judging from responses a lot of you folks know our thoughts on negative badges, streaks =)
But we are looking through and discuss and then get back with our thoughts. Either way I think it's safe to say a least a couple new badges are in order. |

While we're discussing new badge possibilities, I think it would be fun to have a "you loser" badge, for people who played and beat things like Avatar, EA Score Tracker/Draft Thing, etc... Games (and I use the term loosely for some of these) that nobody would even touch if there were no points attached to them.
So BBgunner and Stallion are Losers?
Hundreds of people have used these games just for the score, what the hell made you think of just these two?? |

Posted - Sep 04 2008 : 7:03:11 PM That goes against almost everything the site stands for, and the meta-game that is the GamerScore Challenge. It would never happen.
