This thread now houses 369 day's worth of suggestions. I started compiling suggestions made on May 8th, 2008 and it is now May 12th, 2009. A lot of thought has been given by a lot of people into the badges, so everyone should feel proud that in that last year, we now have 3 New Genres, a whole new type of Badge and over 70 new games have found homes. Here's to another successful year of badges!

This thread only deals with Genre badges, not Collection badges. As such, the proposed badge of "Men in Tights" has been removed. See the Superhero collection badge underneath the badges tab for the superhero games that qualify.
First number is 360voice members that have played the game(by %) - Now we can really see what popular/unpopular games are being left out
The second number is 360voice members that have played the game by total number. This helps to put the % in perspective.
The third is the overall score on Metacritic.com - Which game really is crap
The final number in the ( ) is the change in users from 2/25/09 to 4/7/09 -WORK IN PROGRESS-

I know I posted it in the other topic, but I really don't think Brutal Legend classifies as a sandbox game. The world isn't THAT big, and you really are limited in what you can do. |

BulletWitch should be in Action/Adventure or Oddball (since EDF is going in there....Low Budget games grouped into oddball would be fun :P). Definetely is not a Hack and Slash. Theres a melee button but %99.9 of the time you're playing the game you're firing a gun in 3rd person or casting spells. |

That's been the only hang up. Fatty didn't want to post it while people were still having issues. Haven't heard from the guys about the status after this last weekend, but judging by my empty inbox and the lack of support postings at the moment, should be soon.
....and I need to get a few Oddball games in before it hits...that might be a reason as well...:-) |

Yeah, I don't concern myself with collections for the most part. Oh, and you missed Transformers 2 hitting it as well. :-)
Genres are much more interesting, speaking of which, this listing will be updated on Monday/Tuesday of next week when I have some extra time at work. |

I'll stick the answer so that few people can see it...since they might not like it...but just pretend the "Third Person Shooter" isn't listed. It's not really a new genre unless more like The Club and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand are released. So at the moment, that one ain't gonna happen.
Now then, with other instances of cross genre, most notably with Survival Horror, what's far more likely then double dipping is simply taking a Dead Rising or FEAR and moving them straight into Survival Horror. This is because Survival Horror does not see nearly as many releases as the other categories and it would help to balance things out.

Hey Dog, now that you're the Badge-Ninja, what's your thoughts on how to deal with games that cross badge genres, especially when we're considering new genre additions.
F'rinstance, there's a 3rd person shooter genre under consideration. Does the fact that GoW fit in there mean that it would move out of the FPS genre? Likewise for Dead Space and RE4 - both fit broadly into both genres, so what's your plan there?
