Posted - Nov 12 2008 : 09:25:31 AM I have an idea... I was looking to see if there are any feeds that show how many active players there were for a given date for a given game (like the charts on the game pages) or even just yesterdays numbers?
thanks, ikmyer |

Posted - Nov 14 2008 : 08:10:28 AM Hey Ikmyer... we are actually working on some ways of making the game data portable... can you email me at mail@360voice.com? Let's talk about your idea and see if there is some overlap. maybe we can work together on it.
As for the game API, we really don't want this to go out into the wild as the query to get the number of days played could lead to lots of calls as it is popular data and we aren't sure we can serve them all. We have some test APIs but without caching it is hard to make this work and we never got back to unleashing it in raw XML form.

Posted - Nov 14 2008 : 06:21:00 AM thanks everyone for the info...
So just to make it office and since I can't seem to find a way to contact Squidpunch directly I'll post it here.
Squidpunch,
If you have the time I would greatly appreciate a api feed that displays the total number of gamers that played a game for a given day (historical or just previous day is fine).
Thanks !!

Posted - Nov 14 2008 : 06:06:32 AM Also recently Squid has made all of the API changes/modifications and has made all the new APIs. Speaking of the most latest changes. CA is very busy right now so his time is very limited.
Squid is also busy... It might take some time. |

Posted - Nov 13 2008 : 09:12:13 AM Squid seems to be the most active besides Wink with this site directly. |

Posted - Nov 13 2008 : 07:59:32 AM I don't think Mygamercard has any public XML feeds.
There is no real method to do that right now. The only thing you could do it search EVERY members' blog for the game name and add them up. Even then you would have to search for a specific game and not all of them.
I personally would not go about doing that. I would just ask to see if Squid, CA, or Fatty can add the feed for you, since they already do all that processing (read: Plead with Squid to do it. I heard he can be bribed easily). |
