Posted - Apr 01 2009 : 06:20:31 AM Hey all,
I got into a challenge with joshnorm to 100k gamerscore by the end of the year, so I waded into the API docs and came up with:
CMorrigu vs Joshnorm http://cmorrigu.com/challenge.html to help keep track of how it was going.
I went ahead and made it so that others can use it, too. Some examples:
ChangeAgent vs SquidPunch to 75k http://cmorrigu.com/challenge.html?t=changeagent&v=squidpunch&g=75000
Illum1na vs TX Eegras to 110k starting 1/1/09 ending 11/30/09 http://cmorrigu.com/challenge.html?t=Illum1na&v=TX%20Eegras&g=100000&s=1/1/2009&e=11/30/2009
Fshguy vs SoupyC to 200k in April http://cmorrigu.com/challenge.html?t=Fshguy&v=SoupyC&g=200000&s=4/1/2009&e=4/30/2009
I have some ideas for improvement and, of course, image generation. But it's a start. |

Posted - Jan 11 2010 : 07:52:51 AM Nice! I was thinking about something like this but I can only use C++, not xml so I couldn't code a single thing. I like this alot nice work. |

Posted - Dec 18 2009 : 09:55:40 AM I've just been working on integrating stats infographics output for another script, so I can see doing something similar for this. |

Posted - May 02 2009 : 7:59:10 PM Hey, pretty cool concept CMorrigu. It wouldn't be too hard to turn that into one of my dynamic userbars that you could then link to your stats. Would you mind? |

Posted - Apr 22 2009 : 07:38:07 AM Awesome, glad you're enjoying it.
I believe I fixed the challenge page math. It was calcing based on the last score in the table... I did that to give an idea of what was needed from start to finish, with the intent of adding in a display of the current averages. It probably makes more sense to go ahead and show what is needed for the remainder of the challenge, so I changed it to that.
Also, fixed the math cases when close to the end of a challenge. Haven't worked with anything that is already here/passed date-wise yet.
I will probably look into displaying the average(s) to date next. |

How's this? http://cmorrigu.com/challenge.html?t=Fshguy&v=Frostbite&g=150000&s=1/1/2009&e=4/30/2009&l=20&c=3

http://cmorrigu.com/challenge.html?t=Fshguy&v=MightyMango&g=150000&s=1/1/2009&e=4/30/2009&l=20&c=3
I put in 2 new parameters:
l= [L]ast X scores
c= [C]hart size
Those seem to work towards what you're looking for. Last x defaults to 10, and chart defaults to 2 with a range of 1, 2, or 3 (S, M, L). I also added the display of Day X of Y, Z days left at the top summary. |

Posted - Apr 21 2009 : 08:16:51 AM I made some code updates and added both the starting and current scores. |

Rockin. Got this working, although I had to use Perl Regex to get it done a bit differently. Thanks.

Possible. I'll see what I can do at some point.

Posted - Apr 17 2009 : 09:35:44 AM So I was just talking to my brother and we both really like this. However our gamerscores are nowhere near each others. I've got 30k and he's got 75k so any challenge to a set score is unattainable for me. So we were thinking do you think there is a way to make it so its not see who can make it to a gamerscore of X amount. But rather see who can get a higher gain of points in a time period. So like for us we want to see who can gain 10K first, do you think that's possible? |

Posted - Apr 16 2009 : 07:48:36 AM I forget the page that it's on, but if you get somebody's card from xboxlive that's pretty reliable. I stopped being lazy and pulled up the code below:
Maybe you could do just a graph over longer periods? Or maybe a difference chart based on score?
http://gamercard.xbox.com/fshguy.card
If you're using .net:
Dim matchString As String = "<span class=""XbcFRAR"">\d*</span>"
Dim regX As New System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex(matchString, RegexOptions.Singleline)
Dim result As String = regX.Match(responseData).Value()
Return result.Replace("<span class=""XbcFRAR"">", "").Replace("</span>", "")

Thanks all for the positives, everyone. Again, if you want it to show your info, just put your gamertags in the URL instead of the ones in the examples. I'm open to ideas, too.
Actually, let me go ahead and break down the parameters:
t= Your Gamer[T]ag
v= [V ]ersus Gamertag
g= [G]oal gamerscore value
s= [S]tart date
e= [E]nd date
Fshguy - It can, I was trying to keep the impact minimal until I sorted out more details. I do cache the scores, but I only grab/show/chart the past 10 days at the moment. This keep everything readable, as a long challenge would be quite a large page and probably a larger graph.
My next step is to grab the initial (start date) scores and the current ("live") scores. BTW, does anyone have a more reliable API for current stats than the duncanmackenzie one? It seems to be not working quite a lot recently, I understand it's a capacity thing.
I think I would then go ahead and put an archive version to show everything from start date to end date (or present).
And then to figure out how to generate a summary image for sigs.
I've also had a request for Teams, 1 user, and more than 2 users. Not sure if I want to open it that far right now.
No promises as to timeline, these are just my thoughts for now. |

Just put your tag in instead of one in the example URLs. |
