Posted - Feb 22 2013 : 6:16:42 PM From Major Nelson. Having started to pick pick up a few GoD, I do enjoy the convenience of not having to get off the couch to change out games. I also like how this is supposed to be an annual event, although it has never happened before and there will be a new console announced soon.

Posted - Nov 27 2012 : 1:27:16 PM I'm getting a daily email from Best Buy where they're having deals on various things. Today's xbox deal was the new Kinect title Hip Hop Dance or something to that affect for $24. They aren't just doing games, but that was the one listed for today. My store that I am closest to didn't have any in stock. |

Posted - Nov 23 2012 : 2:32:24 PM Damn, wish I was seeing some of those deals up here. Can't even get someone to pick some up for me, since the 1600pt cards don't work up here. |

Posted - Nov 23 2012 : 2:04:14 PM Make sure you look by the registers. My Target doesn't even keep 1600 cards in the electronics section any more. With a rack of 50+ at each checkout it was hard to stop at 15.
They didn't ring up correctly though so I had to show them the ad and wait while the fixed the price in each one I individually... |

Posted - Nov 23 2012 : 12:39:44 PM My ad actually showed the points on sale in it. With your success I figured I'd try it out as well. Store signage didn't reflect the sale, only the three month cards, but the scanner said $10 each, so I cleared the shelf if the last 10 cards they had. Guess I've got some Christmas gifts taken care of now.
I believe WalMart will ad match, if your target is out or if you don't have a target nearby. I checked their policy online and didn't see anything excluding black Friday ads (like best buy is excluding), but your mileage may vary. |

There's all kinds of great Black Friday deals surfacing now, but the one of note that I saw was in Target's ad. Starting at 9pm Thursday night, if I read it right, they will have 1600 point cards on sale at $10/ea.
It seems Target has reprinted their ad and the 1600 point cards have been replaced by 3 month live cards. Not quite the amazing deal, but figured it was too good to be true.
I still picked 'em up. They rang in as 10 dollars at the register even though they weren't advertised...I checked the UScan just to be sure, lol :)
Also picked up some older games that I need to finish up with a couple new dance games to play...and a 3DS/Prof. Layton as a present.

Half price points make those half price deals of the week even sweeter. Plus they make great gifts or giveaway prizes. I might just go out and try to pick myself up 10 or so cards. I'll have to check Amazon to see if they price match (no sales tax for me) and target.com in case they run out in store.
Might not be a bad idea to head over there Wednesday to simply scope out where they keep the cards, though I'm sure they are near the games somewhere. |
