This is a group for the discerning comic book reader. Join here

It's the place to complain that Superman is no longer the alpha male you remember him to be. The place to complain that reboots are the bane of comic book continuity. The place to praise a superb comic book to read. And also show your dedication to your two treasured hobbies.

Pissed with what they did with Bucky...

All about Conan currently. I've got a nice little collection of the Marvel run of Conan the Babarian, including issue 2:) I wish we could get back to having some big black anad white Conan books like there used to be.

I caught a flash of what DC is doing via Twitter. Still trying to decide if it is genius or insanity. But my inner geek is vomiting at the thought of Doctor Doom being part of the Fantastic Four. That is all kinds of wrong. That's like finding out that Gaddafi and the West have buried the hatchet and Libya is being invited into the G8, kicking out France.

INSANITY!

Human Torch is dead. The Fantastic Four became the Future Foundation (complete with Dr. Doom as a member).

I haven't touched much of the recent things, mostly just diving into Fables, Invincible and The Authority, all three of which we have the graphic novels here at the library for.

I have been keeping up on what DC is doing with their scorched earth campaign for the DCU. 52 new #1 titles, a total reboot of the entire DCU, and it's just looking insane.

I got myself a HUGE batch of Captain America books, but virtually stopped following what happened in comics after Cap died and Bucky became Captain America. I am trying to stay away from Wiki, in case I ever do decide to catch up. But I would like to know this at least. Is the Human Torch 'dead'?

Anyone still reading comics? I got myself Fear itself and it is quite interesting.

There must be comic readers in here.

I'm good, thanks for asking, but I have been out of the comic loop for so long, it is ridiculous. Did you watch The Walking Dead on TV? I can honestly say that I was a little disappointed by it. The zombies were awesome, but it promised a lot more than I got. It was also fun to see the two british actors in there. Let's see what happens in season 2.

Those status are amazing. Love the Mark 3 Iron Man one, and the GIANT Incredible Hulk.

Gents, is you visit London in the next few weeks, you have to pop into Madam Tussauds. The waxwork museum is having a superhero exhibition.

This is apparently the largest waxwork in MT ever!

The following stills are from a specially commissioned '4D' film, exclusive to Madame Tussauds.

Vice, yes, that scene was horrific as you said. I have also fallen behind in some comics, but I aim to catch up when I get home next week!!

Take care guys! I will also check the x-men since it was suggested =)

Thanks for that, Spiderman. Much appreciated for those pointers. Time for me to open my wallet and go for some X-Men, Chew and Walking Dead.

Ahhh the Moderator moderating. :P
I didn't forget it, he just asked what was going on in the last 12 months..
Walking dead is as awesome as when both of my 360v comic buddies suggested it. I was trying to pull the major changes outta the top of my head.

The scene that freaked me out ..like really freaked me out, wasn't the "rape revenge" but the "hey let's teach these comic companies how to kill off people" if you know which part I'm talking about.... erh*** pregnant ****ehhhemmm

But really... you should check out the X-men crossover... and no I'm not the biggest X-men fan but I'd definitely put it on my MUST READ LIST. :)

EDIT: Chew is still awesome. :)

Hey Chrome, glad to see you still about here. I meant to ask you, what you thought of that really shocking scene in the Walking Dead that I was alluding to last year. If you remember, I kept saying that it was such a shocking scene, that you would know it as soon as you saw it and would wince in sympathy. The scene I was talking about is where the black girl got her revenge on the guy that raped her. You know, torture and castration, that scene.

It was awful, wasn't it.

Why didn't I see The Walking Dead in there spider?? =p

Blackest night ... Great read,DC's way of expanding the Green Lantern franchise.
Siege ...Good read, Marvels way of shifting the entire Avengers line.
Amazing Spider-man... is now getting average.
Batman's return... Meh so far.
War of supermen... is pretty good.
Adventure comics... is alright.
Flash ... Is back.
Brightest day (Blackest night spin-off) Has re-introduced Dead DC characters.

But by far I am really enjoying the X-men run, They are basically taking the Franchise in a new direction and the story that's being told now, is EPIC... in X-men proportions, I haven't enjoyed the X-men like this, since Chris Claremont was writing uncanny.

The second coming, eh? I will have to check that out. My comic book consumption has gone WAY down. Anything else I might have missed in the last 12 months?
