Assassin's Creed 2 DLC Announced
Written Tuesday, December 01, 2009 by Alan Pettit

Ubisoft has announced the first two DLC packs for Assassin's Creed II. The first, scheduled for sometime in January, will be called "Battle of Forli." The second, aiming for February, will be "Bonfire of the Vanities."

Unfortunately no specific content (plot, achievement or otherwise), nor any concrete dates or prices were revealed. They did mention each download will be around 1GB, so it appears the content should be fairly decent in length, or at least add a large chunk of map if nothing else.

When more details are announced, we'll be sure to let you know.

20 Puzzle glyphs

30 Codex pages (these show on your map and is story related)

It's not bad at all.

Dont forget the hundreds of treasure chests and assassins plaques.

Well, he did ask if there were collection achievements, so treasure chests are completely eliminated from consideration (and they are on the map....)

I like snagging the viewpoints... the view that you get from some of the structures. O_O

The feathers are the only collectible that you need an external map for. The glyphs are marked in your database, and will have visible popups when pass near a building with a glyph on it. Solving the glyphs, that's another story. Treasures and codex pages are shown on the map, and treasures aren't even needed for story. By the end of the game I had 300K+ florins, so the 200-1000 I get from a chest is pittance.

IMHO, the collectibles are better than AC1, because there are less of the non-mapped types (flags == feathers, basically). no templars to assassinate, either.

So it has MORE irritating collectibles than AC1?

YES!!!!!

However, to the games credit, the Collectibles are either are completely unnecessary (see: treasure chests. No backstory, and no achievements), or much more compelling (codex pages are arranged in a puzzle).

It's not AS BAD as ac1, but it doesn't change the underlying fact that the game relies way too much on collectibles and filler.

I didn't want to look at the other thread for fear of spoilers, but I'll ask here... Does AC2 have annoying collection achievements that require maps and checklists? That was the low point of AC1.

Flags... Templars... etc?
