I need to put together a badge, think "Viral" and for "2011". It needs to fit into the normal badge dimensions... Green is the most likely color form, but if you have other colors in mind I am open.
Please post the graphic here for public opinion... I can offer a creator badge. While you're at it, maybe we need a new creator badge. ;) |

Ok. So after looking through some of the current badges, and how there's a split on color vs no color, I did a bit more of the concept art thing. Here we go:
Sci Fi:
 Classic Type-II phaser
 Voila! The ZF-1. It's light. Handle's adjustable for easy carrying, good for righties and lefties. Breaks down into four parts, undetectable by x-ray, ideal for quick, discreet interventions.
 BFG 9000. Enough said.
RPG:
 Lootz!!!
Rockstar:
 In the original, he's throwing up the horns. Kinda lost on the shrink.
Karaoke/wtf ever:
Wrestling:
 It's Haggar piledriving a shark. I might be able to darken the shark.
Hack and Slash:
 Looks bad as a tiny black knight.
 A better version
Hardcore:
 What's more hardcore than a barbwire bat? (aside from porn)
Hexacore:
 It's not hardcore unless it's Hexacore. Megagigabytes, son! The hardest of the hardcore collection has yet to be named.
Fighter:
 Time to upgrade the stickfigure theatre.
Now, a couple others I've thought about. If there's going to be a hardest of the hardcore collection badge, why not make a 1/2/3 star badge out of it. Anyone can fire up a hard game, but true psychopaths will play them. So I submit a badge idea for the "Deathwish" badge. (name subject to change):
So, another thing I noticed is that some of the site specific badges have entry level and master level versions. If we go with the art palette for someone who does a piece of art or two, maybe we go with something crazy for a major 360 art project(like badge overhaul):

Oh you and DoT should definitely have it. I was just suggesting that since it seems that one of my concepts is to be used, that it'd be nice if I also started with it.

There were a couple concept pieces that I submitted a few weeks ago for part of a badge overhaul. Changes to easy/hardcore, RPG, fighter, plus the new rockstar and tonedeaf badges. If the powers that be would like to see a bit of color, I can always re-skin those to keep their original color. |

Honestly, if badges get an overhaul, I wouldn't mind seeing a colored icon on a green badge for more of them. Subtle color. |

Dang, wish I had seen this earlier. I've got ideas, now to just have the time to create a few of them. I've made 360v-styled mock badges in the past, awesome to have the opportunity to have something actually used. :) |
