Posted - Dec 30 2010 : 10:44:27 AM Keeping this short and to the point. I want to move Trials HD from Oddball to Puzzle. 'Splosion Man from Oddball to Puzzle. N+ into Puzzle.
Why?
Well with Trials HD, Super Meat Boy, 'Splosion Man and N+ all playing rather similar, Trials and 'Splosion Man are no longer really unique. While they rely on crackjack timing, in essence, they are very much puzzles. Trial and error, over and over, to find the best solution to get out of a complex situation. While they are unconventional, they fit, to me the concept of a puzzle game.
Less controversial is the following shift:
Metro 2033 to Sci-Fi Shooter.
Trivial Pursuit to Party.
Some other additions:
Bladestorm to Hack'n'Slash.
Pinball Hall of Fame to Retro.
Bomberman: Blast Fest to Party.
Guwange to SHMUP.
Removals:
Warlords from Retro (pulled from marketplace)
NASCAR 08 from Race (servers shut down)
Lord of the Rings 2 from Strategy (servers shut down)
Tiger Woods PGA tour 10 from Sports (unobtainable achievement)
A whole mess of EA Sports titles from Sports
I am certain there will be more additions, but not much, as this is going to be a small update.

Not if you have already played the game online before the patch and got online achievements. |

There used to be a rule, an unofficial one, that a game could have unachievable achievements as long as 90% or more of the gamerscore was still obtainable. It's how Live 06, College Hoops and the like were in Sports for so long. Is that no longer the case?
That is no longer the case as with the sheer amount of server shutdowns or just glitched achievements (UFC 2009, Ghostbusters) the public sentiment was to no longer show *ANY* support for games that are less then 100% achievable.
It was about a year ago that the stance changed and some games just fell through and lasted longer (EndWar, Nascar). |

yeah, I mentioned it in the last badge update thread, back in like march or so. Then all went crazy here and I let it slip by. Just wanting to keep getting closer to the race badge :)
Oh, that 1000 was pretty easy, shame to take that away |

Psst, Nascar 08 is still in there since you can remove. I didn't bring it up as I thought you couldn't remove a while ago.
Anyway, nascar has 35 points unobtainable thanks to pulled servers.
09 still works (for now at least)
GAH! Really!?
Gonna be there for a few weeks then as Genres work a bit differently from Collections. I'll get it pulled with the next update. |

Posted - Dec 31 2010 : 10:25:18 AM Exactly what Capn Doug said, there's a Gold Edition with DLC on the disc, therefore, MUA1 remains in RPG.

Battlestar Galactica needs to be removed from TV collection, its no longer available on live.
So does Marvel UA 1 from RPG since its DLC is also being removed from the market.
There's a Gold edition of Marvel Ultimate Alliance around with the DLC on it, so it is still available, though it might be rarer. I think it went for like $100 on eBay when Activision pulled the DLC the first time. |

Posted - Dec 30 2010 : 12:31:10 PM Usually I'd be against moving things too much once they are in a place, but all these seem like logical moves...a Platformer genre would be cool, but right now puzzle is probably best fit. |

Posted - Dec 30 2010 : 11:57:15 AM Maybe it's time to look at creating a Platformer badge. Those "puzzle" games use a different part of the brain than traditional puzzle games. I can see them fitting there however. And hooray for N+ finally getting in. |

Posted - Dec 30 2010 : 11:27:37 AM Sounds good: I can definitely see those games as borderline actiony puzzle, I'm happy to see Metro moved, and I wanted an excuse to pick up the Pinball Hall of Fame ^^. |
