Posted - Dec 10 2011 : 2:22:32 PM I decided to thin the herd a little, and took 61 360, PS3 and Wii games down to Best Buy.
My trade in total was $167.
If I bought any $30 (and up game) as a member of the free gamer's club, I got an extra 40% trade in credit. ($66.80 extra)
If I joined or was a member of the $15/year paid gamer's club, I got an additional 10% trade in credit. ($16.70 extra)
Brought the total value up to $250.50. (AWESOME!!)
So, if any of you have been sitting on some old games, looking to trade them in on a good deal, this might be your weekend.
You can go to bestbuy.com and look up the trade in value of each game ahead of time, and even with 2K6 games, no game had less than $1 trade in value (plus $0.50 for bonuses).
Turn around and make use of the buy 2 get 1 free deal this weekend, and you could do fairly well. (Got my son Skylanders for both the 360 and 3DS, as the figures have some exclusives in each set and are useable on both systems, and got Battlefield 3 for my freebie) |

Posted - Dec 11 2011 : 2:40:29 PM I was amazed at the $1 ($1.50 with bonuses) for:
Madden 06, 07, 08 NHL 2K6 College Hoops 2K6 NBA 2K6
I know Gamestop has offered my $0.25 on each of those. 6x the trade in value, and the ability to spend it on just about anything. (Does Amazon have a trade in program? Being able to trade in for literally anything could have an advantage, too)
(I admit I am a Best Buy whore, too. But, I get way too much $ back from them to go most other places.) |

Posted - Dec 10 2011 : 3:50:33 PM I only had multiple pages because of having 61 games. (I have actually had Gamestop tell me I could only do 20 at once)
But, I only signed the last page.
One signature.
But, for $250, I would have signed 3 times. |

Posted - Dec 10 2011 : 3:43:40 PM What paperwork? I signed once, just like I do at Gamestop.
They need to integrate the systems, though. The employee helping me had to put my info into the "trade in" system, since it did not pull the "rewardzone" system info over. (He said that is coming, as it was one of the first identified issues with the new trade in program)
(Oh, and with my $115 of rewardzone cash, I was able to get both Skylanders, Battlefield 3 and an 18-55mm lens for our new DSLR Canon for $10.22 out of pocket. I did not go in expecting that much in return) |
