Okay folks, you've might have noticed see the future getting changed over the past week. We didn't want to make an announcement because we were trying to iron out the update before we made an announcement, well now its mostly ironed out so here we go.

Firstly, we have A LOT of removals mainly due to online shutdowns and glitches, thanks a lot EA.

Secondly you should notice quite a few moves, including one that alot of people wanted, the viva pinata games to strategy.

Next we have TWO new genres for you, Fitness and Platformer!!

Platformer is a two fold project. With this update we decided to add/move all of the 2D/arcade games into the genre this time around.
A lot of moves came from puzzle which is why it got a lot more games added to it than per usual update.

Before you start asking about Sonic and Prince of Persia games not being added, relax. These will all be moved and added come the summer update. We wanted to do baby steps because there is a lot of upheaval this update. The 3D games will be next update.

You can look at all the changes in see the future and start compiling the damage totals. Take a look guys there is alot going on.

Alright you guys have done it!

I finaly ordered a NTSC xbox :D to bad the order of 20 games at gamestop.com couldn't be done because they can't verify international credit card xD

And the shipping costs were almost as expensive as the xbox, freaking 180 dollars. And I'll problably have to pay taxes when it arives here to :(

But anyway you won't hear me complain about region locked games anymore (except when they are NTSC-J games).

Koch Media have confirmed that only the PC servers are going for Sacred 2 as the console servers are in the hands of Sony/Microsoft.

With that taken care of, Sacred 2 remains in WRPG.

Thanks Futiles.

If anyone can confirm this, then we will add it back as well as pull create.

Has anyone actually taken the time to contact Sacred 2's publishing company?

Much like with Codemasters and Overlord, only EA and 2K Sports use their own servers and published server shutdowns do not affect the 360 and Xbox LIVE.

Another example is the Smackdown vs Raw series, as those are dead on PC and PS3, but very much alive on LIVE.

I sent Codemasters an e-mail during the Overlord freakout, and got a fast and polite reaponse stating the Microsoft owned the Xbox LIVE servers, and that version of the game would be unaffected. Usually the game's website has a link to the publisher's contact info with an e-mail link.

*EDIT* - Submitted a request for confirmation of the affect this will have on the Xbox LIVE version of Sacred 2. Will update when info is received.

I am 99% positive the servers will remain open and are Microsoft Owned.

UPDATE:

The US publisher of the game, CDV, was only ever the publisher and never had any control of the servers (PC or console).

The game developer, ASCARON, closed its doors and sold off all IPs a couple of years ago to DeepSilver, developer of Dead Island and Riven 2. The servers remained up and unaffected during the crossover.

The sites never talk about the Xbox LIVE servers, much like WWE games and Overlord and other games, the PC and PS3 servers are mentioned but never LIVE.

I have reached out to Deep Silver and will update when I get the response.

Got a response from Deep Silver.

The servers are Microsoft's and should be unaffected.

When will the new Genres have leaderboards at http://voice.blaggspot.com/GCLeaderboard.aspx ?

I'm way behind on keeping that up to date... But, if you look up above in the menu. There's a full Genre leaderboard here now:

I have not had a chance to confirm on Sacred 2. There was also no confirmation anywhere on their forums either.

If I remember, I can test Sacred 2 servers tonight. Shame because I was going to get the "have a character get to..." achievements before they shut down.

Well I think the servers were supposed to be shut down as of today. So if they're up, I think we're assuming that they're up until someone says otherwise.
StingX2 Posted - Apr 01 2012 : 11:20:20 AM
Tomorrow do we figure out if Sacred 2 really shutdown? or today?
Mightymango Posted - Apr 01 2012 : 09:29:13 AM
Yeah, we will have to pull Create out.

As for the Fifa 06 games it was brought up a VERY long time ago. Maybe we can add them as a "retro" addition to the next update.
N1ghtmareB4Xmas Posted - Apr 01 2012 : 06:20:10 AM
Some info for people in power. Create is still in Puzzle. Thanks. Geart job

Never came up in any discussions, nor did they come up in the "this game would be in that genre thread"

Maybe not in this round, but I know I have brought both of them up before.

I believe they will be back since the server closings are killing the genre every quarter
