Challenge: 26 Games, 26 Genres, 26,000 Gamerscore
Prize: 1600 Microsoft Points
Rules:
1. The objective of this side challenge is to earn the 26,000 points required in 26 genres in the least amount of games played. As the title states, 1000 points in 26 games across 26 genres.
2. In the event that you have already earned points in a game prior to the start of Buffet 2012 but said game has enough DLC achievements that it is still possible to earn 1000 points or more then that game will be accepted as long as the 1000 points can be verified as being earned during the challenge. If a game does not have any extra achievements then the game does not qualify as you'll need to earn a full 1000 points from a single games to be counted.
3. If a player chooses to participate in this side challenge, then it will be their responsibility to keep track of the games they used for scoring (see next post) so that I may easily verify their points when they believe they have met the terms of the challenge.
Challenge: Extra Eats
Prize: 1600 Microsoft Points
Rules:
1. The objective of this side challenge is to max out all 32 genres by earning at least 1000 points in each.
2. If the regular Buffet challenge ends before anyone completes all 32 genres then we will continue until a winner is crowned.
3. Unlike my other side challenge, any and all games listed in the badge calculator can be used, not just one.
Both challenges are very difficult and I will be very impressed with anyone who is successful but in the off chance that the winner of both are one in the same then I will bow to them as a Godlike Completionist. Good luck!! |

Wow, really? No one won after all the time? I though for sure some of the guys that took the top spots would have nailed down your challenge as well. I know I had some real life events that cut back my gaming and wished I could have made a better showing. I thought this was a great challenge to do and at the least wanted to thank you for making the effort. |

I really enjoyed this challenge, and was going towards it fairly strongly. I guess I got burned out after the regular buffet, particularly with other things going on in my life. If you look at my gamerscore increase graph, that becomes pretty apparent. |

That's too bad, but it's fairly understandable I suppose. It is an awful lot of points including many from the toughest and most time-consuming genres (I finally managed to finish Strategy yesterday and JRPG a few weeks before that), but interest certainly seems to have fallen a lot for most people. I'll still be continuing along for fun, especially since I finally return to normal work hours next week. |

With the next buffet already here, and no continued interest in this challenge (aside from Roku), I'm pulling the plug. It has been several months since I last requested that participants that are somewhat close to completion of this to make that last little push to get it done and I've pretty much been ignored as there have been very few updates to anyone's list since. I appreciate everyone that put in a real effort to this but I would have appreciated if you would have put in a little more instead of me just sitting on prizes for over a year. I'll think about doing something special for those that I felt deserve it, but as of now, this contest is closed and the original prizes are void. |

Yeah I think we'll keep it going until March 23rd or so. If no one does it by then, well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. |

I received some very bad news this morning, so I'm probably going to have to slow or halt progress in this as I won't be playing much between Thanksgiving and some unknown point in the future. |

I know I was one who wanted to keep it going, but as you can probably tell from my lack of playing I'm busy with my last semester of college. :p
I really do enjoy these challenges and hope to see more in the future (unless this one never finishes) |

Well I think Shadows of the Damned, which I just started, is the last game in my collection that I feel like I *really* want to play *now*, so perhaps after that I'll get back to this.
So is it correct that you're only counting things as the genres stood before the July update (hence only the 2D platformers that were in the Platformer genre at the time)? I may have missed it, but did someone make a link to that list somewhere? |

I might try, I might not. I just don't really want to play the games I have for some of the ones I have left. So a lot of it is getting the motivation to do that. |

I finished one a few days ago, but I didn't realize I'd passed 1000 in it already. I thought I was only at 985.
Although I've only closed one, I've still added a few thousand towards finishing some others. |

It's not exactly an archived list, but the front page still has all of the additions/moves/removals on it. |

Sorry for the pressure guys. I've not been around since after Skyline ended and have had a lot of negative personal things going on so I didn't mean to make it look like I didn't care about you all or the contest anymore. Between my real life events and coming in and seeing that a pain in the ass change was about to occur I prematurely just tried to come up with a way to get it over with.
Just continue to do what you've been doing and post in here when you're finished and contact me over XBL if I'm not around for a little while. Thanks. |

Well, so much for FF13-2 giving me a leg up after the shift...it'll still work to get me the 4-star traditional RPG badge, at least.
I may still try this, just needed to play some other games first. |
