Posted - May 01 2012 : 04:46:47 AM A buddy of mine started up a new site a while back featuring captured game cinematics that streams like a movie. Pretty cool idea, if you ask me. So far he has captured and posted all cinematics for AC, ACII, AC:B, BF3, and Halo CE. I guess H2 is up next. I'm not big on stories and usually skip cutscenes when the game allows me, but I know a lot of other people are into it bigtime so I figured I'd link you up.
Anyway, if you're into this type of thing you can find it here. |

Posted - May 01 2012 : 10:01:32 AM I had to go back and replay Halo:ODST because the guy I played with rushed through and skipped everything and I wanted to see the cutscenes. |

Well, if you end up playing through Halo: CEA and need a co-op partner, I'm your huckleberry. I bought it late and missed the boat...now nobody plays it. |

Posted - May 01 2012 : 08:17:11 AM interesting, sounds like they have their ducks in a row.
Though, I wonder if the game scene is like the music scene and the publishers could stick their noses in (like say a band gives away free music, says to share, and the music company sues the person that was told to share). Hopefully it stays kosher :) I'm sure there's a bunch of games I'm interested in the story for but don't have time to play (I think the only thing I haven't played is Halo:CE... but that's in my to-do list... not to mention played the original lol) |

I initially asked the same question but his girlfriend is an attorney and says they've done everything correctly...without infringing on any copyright laws. Plus, he's spoke with some devs regarding the site.
Here's what he told me when I asked...
quote: I speak directly with Publishers and Game Development companies and 343 actually told me to tell them when the Halo ones were up because they wanted to watch them. The problem occurs when I try to make money on the videos without getting consent. Which I am not doing. Really it's no different than posting a game walkthrough.

Posted - May 01 2012 : 06:58:23 AM Yeah I'm a story buff, my gf... not so much (annoys the crap out of me when she's playing and just skips through whatever she can or focuses on her phone when there's something she can't skip through...), never really understood the point in playing games just to play... but that's me :p (though I will admit, I'm trying to not pay attention to the story much in KoA because I know sequels are suppose to be MMO's which I won't play... but it's hard knowing the events are penned by R.A. Salvatore).
