Fixed something in the XML parsing. Now shows "Offline", instead of "Presence unknown" if the XML parser detects you're Offline. :)

Ok, I have a stable release for everyone to play with, though the installation is for the slightly advanced windows users....

Download v1.0: 360surface MSN addin

In that zip file is a readme for instructions.. This was done in a hurry, so if there are any questions left, contact me on MSN or post here.

TODO:
- Think of extra stuff for the addin :)

Cheers

Works like a charm. Good job, Illum1na!

can you be a bit more specific?
do you see the addon in msn?
can you turn it on at all?
did you enter your gamertag in options -> addons -> settings?

Okay, Installed but still not working...
porschephiliac Posted - Mar 21 2008 : 5:04:40 PM
Duh, read the readme....
porschephiliac Posted - Mar 21 2008 : 4:57:29 PM
I am on XP though.
illum1na Posted - Mar 21 2008 : 3:39:14 PM
check earlier in this thread.. there's a vista fix.
in short: instead of running the batch-file, right-click it, and choose "run as administrator". all other instructions are the same on vista as they are on XP.

I'll add this to feature list for the final version:
- installer that includes the stuff in the batch-file, vista compatible

:)

I can't seem to get this to work...

Have you done the fix for Vista user yet because I still can't get it to work.

The next full release will feature a lot more options, and I'll include this suggestion Dany.

Other features I'm thinking about:
- picture + text to show when xbox live is down
- finally fix the "tm" "copyright" and other weird character issues (the text and picture break if there's any weird character in the game-title)
- interaction between addin users (maybe)

I think adding in the rest of that would be a bit much. When I actually have MSN open I try to keep it as small as possible on the side of a screen, which leads to the full game title not actually being shown most of the time, but that's just my opinion.

It shows only Online. Playing N+.
But why not like my twitter playing N+ (Single player - Playing Level 0 of Episode 14) or like 360voice status does N+ is the entertainment of choice. (Single player - Playing Level 1 of Episode 14) it would be nice.

it's been kinda strange ever since xbox live presence was down when halo was released.
I tweaked my presence api a bit.

could you try again please?

I tried that, and I still get the error message. I've tried it with other gamertags as well, but it just says that.

THat is because the xbox feed was down.. I fixed this in the precense api, so this shouldn't happen again..
You need to re-add the addin though, or it will not load at all :)
CoolBleeze Posted - Sep 25 2007 : 9:58:29 PM
I just signed onto MSN and the add-in wouldn't load...it gave me this pop-up message: "The addin-in "MessengerAddin.Xbox360LivePresence.dll" could not be turned on. 80131502"

Kinda strange...
