Another easy 200GS gift from EA in the form of a non-game game --- EA Live Sports Tracker.
It just posted today, so I'm not sure when it releases.

You can just make a fake league with no other "real" teams. Thats what I have setup, I just had to fix the roster on the website. |

Never mind on site I just had to click finish the draft or something like that. Also there is a Football pick’em thing. I think that’s intended for this game. So join a league that’s public and pick your teams that you think will win. |

Woke up this morning and it was available for download in the Marketplace for only 80 MS points (about an 88MB download) --- not too bad at all! |

This game will be available on the live arcade on 9/04/2008. Its posted on the right side of EA's site. More specifically this site. www.fantasy.easports.com Should be another easy 200 points from the looks of it. |

I wonder if it's MS and not EA that's behind this. IIRC all XBLA games had to have 200G (or very close to it) available.
Granted EA is a big enough fish that they could probably get MS to make an exception or change their policy but they probably have bigger fish to fry.
What EA could do though is put a little bit more thought behind these achievements so they aren't so laughably easy.
I actually would like to bring up my arcade percentage, but wouldn't spend $5 for this one, though if it were 200 points I admit I'd probably pick it up just for the GS. |

Actually paying good money for garbage like this will only encourage other companies to follow EA's lead. The only reason they are charging for it is because of the achievements. Crap like this is no better (its actually worse) than the shovelware on the Wii.
I believe the Live Draft Tracker thing was actually free on the PSN. So apparently they didn't bother to add trophies to it. If they had, I'm sure they would have slapped 5 bucks on it. |

Heh, yeah, I have a little of a resistance now. I'm not completely immune, though. It's just that in these obvious-achievement-exploitation cases that make me really open my eyes and see how ridiculous it is sometimes. |

Good for you. I was about to say. Just look at all of these people willing to spend Microsoft Points and time on something useless just for gamerscore points when they could play something fun instead. |

EDIT: Actually you know what? they should count, crap like this has made me actually sit back and think about gamerscore... before all this achievement crap I actually played games the way I wanted to... beating the story on most... or on the games I really liked getting every little thing out of them. Gamerscore has turned me into an obsessed freak... for what?

The Live Draft Tracker was an extremely easy 200 points. Took me a whole 28 minutes to get the whole 200. |

Those achievements look even easier than live draft tracker. Other than having to play the game on certain days, the other achievements you could probably get in 5 minutes. 35 points for going to the pause menu? Super easy! I'll probably get this for another 200 points. |
