I apologize...I couldn't fit the full names of the games in the subject. It was supposed to read "Activision Announces Guitar Hero 5, New Tony Hawk and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2."
At an upfront hosted by Massive in downtown Manhattan, Activision Blizzard showed sequels to popular games, including a fifth Guitar Hero, a new Tony Hawk and a second Call of Duty game set in modern day. MTV Multiplayer reports:
At the meeting, Activision Blizzard showcased new games that would make sense for in-game ads, including the vaguely titled “Guitar Hero 5,” which included a screen shot of gameplay with a Burger King ad to the right of the note highway.
The publisher confirmed rumors that “Tony Hawk” will be different this year. “You’re not going to be playing this game with a controller in your hands,” said the company. The new “Tony Hawk” arrives on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and DS in October.
Additionally, Activision Blizzard acknowledged the “Call of Duty” series will move forward yet again with “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2#8243; coming this fall. No details on the game were released.

Move forward with Modern Warfare 2? More like backwards. We've gone from CoD4: Modern Warfare, to CoD5: World at War, to CoD4: Modern Warfare 2. DUHHHHHH.... |

| What I am taking away from the Tony Hawk statement is that we will have an actual skateboard controlled game. If they can make drums and guitars etc why not a skateboard, right? Skate owns Tony Hawk, so they better do something to get the fan base back. |

hmmm i don't remember a number next to my COD:World at War case. So the next COD game that comes out should be the real COD5 thus moving forward to the next number in the series and moving forward to this time period.
Sorry i just got a weird thing when people call W@W COD5 cuz it's not. why not add all the other COD games that didn't have numbers it would be up to COD 8 or 9.
anyway thanks for the info on the new games coming out! :) |

| World at War is like The Big Red One and is not numbered, it's an off shoot. |

You guys are right actually...I never did see a 5 in the title. Thanks for clearing that up. |

there used to be a arcade game called Top Skater (I think) that had a board that you stand on and control with your feet, it was pretty cool as you had to move the board much like you would in real life to execute tricks and stuff.
With that said I think a skateboard controller is very possible, and if that is the direction they are going with the new Tony Hawk then they might just breathe new life in to the series.

| @Rusty187 I remember top skater =) that's why I was saying the skateboard controller is way possible. Tony Hawk needs something, because when Skate 2 comes out the "skaters" are going to be all over it. I know I will be. They better have signed Hurley's skate crew this time! |

They announced a looooong time ago that W@W will never officially be labeled as CoD5, after the CoD3 craptacular they decided that they would produce all the #'d versions. So technically CoD:MW2 will be CoD5 |

I'm surprised noone has mentioned this yet.
I don't even know what that sentence means. |

top skater use to pwn me....
As for the ad stuff... wth? the poster in venues was enough, we don't need a static ad there... hopefully it was just the camera angle at the time. |

I can tell you right now that unless they do something new the THPS series will flop, Skate has raised the bar. |

I still remember playing the first one on the Playstation 1, such good times, the area 51 level freaked me out though. |
