I made this so people can know more about badges; how you can obtain them, why you can lose them, what badges are available and more.
WHAT ARE BADGES?
Badges are given out to represent once you have done something, just like achievement for games. For instance, if you played Xbox 360 for 30 days in a row, without missing a day, then you would get a badge to prove it.
HOW DO I GET BADGES?
There are many different ways to earn badges, some of the badges are unlockable by you gaming alot, some of them involve in participating in certain activities and community events to earn them.
SO, WHAT BADGES ARE THERE?
 360Voice MOTTO LOVE
Badge goes to people that have the word 360voice in their Xbox Live profile motto.
 360voice Street Team
You bought a 360voice shirt, and emailed a picture to prove it!
 10 DAY STREAK
Game for 10 days in a row. Demos and Xbox Live Arcade games count.
 20 DAY STREAK
Game for 20 days in a row. Demos and Xbox Live Arcade games count.
 30 DAY STREAK
Game for 30 days in a row. Demos and Xbox Live Arcade games count.
 50 DAY STREAK
Game for 50 days in a row. Demos and Xbox Live Arcade games count.
 100 DAY STREAK
Game for 100 days in a row. Demos and Xbox Live Arcade games count.
 STREAK LEADER
You have the the longest streak than any gamer!
 10 WATCHERS
Get at least 10 people to watch your blog and this badge is yours!
 25 WATCHERS
Get at least 25 people to watch your blog and this badge is yours!
 50 WATCHERS
Get at least 50 people to watch your blog and this badge is yours!
 100 WATCHERS
Get at least 100 people to watch your blog and this badge is yours!
 MOST WATCHED
Badge goes to the most watched member in 360 Voice.
 GAMER
You have an average of over 25% completion on all retail games you have played that aren't zero gamerscore.
 ELITE
You have an average of over 50% completion on all retail games you have played that aren't zero gamerscore.
 JEDI MASTER
You have an average of over 75% completion on all retail games you have played that aren't zero gamerscore
Xbox Mood Badges
A badge is awarded depending on how often you play, or not play your Xbox 360. 6 Badges are available. The # of days for each one is unknown at this point. The badges that are available are as follows:

For having 30% completion of gamerscore for all action/adventure games like Prince of Persia.
 ACTION/ADVENTURE EXPPERT
For having 60% completion of gamerscore for all action/adventure games like Prince of Persia.

For having 90% completion of gamerscore for all action/adventure games like Prince of Persia.
 API SAMURAI
You must contribute or show some good work of XML.
 API NINJA
Given to people that take the use of API to the next level. You must make something unique, get involved and help make the API better.

If you were one of the people who played the #1 game at 360voice for that day, you get the In Crowd badge. Usually it is a Retail Title (such as COD or GOW or even Halo), but sometimes when big arcade titles are released or new DLC is available, another game shoots to the top of the list. If this happens and you didn't play it, the badge is gone.

I had a Game Name 50/100/200 badge, but now it isn't appearing anymore. Why?
The 50/100/200 badges are now gone for good.
LOSING BADGES
You can lose some badges like Streak Badges, if you miss a day of gaming. You can also lose Genre badges if new games are added into that category and you do not have the required gamerscore %. You can also lose those Rare badges if you obtain them.
GENRE BADGES
To find out what games are listed for each genre (e.x. Sports), click Here.

The badges are something you get for doing something. It is like achievments in games, except these are achievments in this website. The badges are only used in this website, they are not on other community websites. As Smooth said, they are just used to brag and show off.

Yeah they are just for fun... nothing more... however unlike Achievements, we can give awards that span multiple games... or go outside the gaming experience directly.
Also, for some of the badges, you don't have to TRY to get them... you might simply play ten or twenty days in a row because you DO... it is more a way to look at someones blog and say "Wow they have played 20 days in a row!"... So it is really just recognition.
