As many of you have recently learned, a member of our community, D TWICE, lost his 4 year old son Zachary to cancer on April 20, 2009. A recent thread concerning this topic can be found here: http://360voice.gamerdna.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18726. I have been discussing this situation for the past several days with ChangeAgent, GTCv Deimos and Davem3 TF in an attempt to figure out what we as a community could do for D TWICE’s family. Towards that end, I am reaching out to all members of 360Voice and requesting donations in Zachary’s name. The purpose of the donations would be to help defray medical and funeral costs for D TWICE’s family. Any amount that can be spared would be greatly appreciated. I am accepting donations via PayPal. Please send your contributions to doubledomer at adelphia dot net (replacing the at with @ and the dot with .). My intent is to either wire the money directly from the bank I work for to a bank that is local for D TWICE, or send the entire amount to him via PayPal. Please include your gamertag in the remarks section so that I can keep track of the source of the donations. I believe that 360Voice is a wonderful community and I a very proud to be a part of it. Please prove me right by donating to this worthwhile cause. This is not officially sanctioned by GamerDNA but I have been given approval by them to seek donations via this site. |

Dear Members of 3v,
It really goes without saying that this is the worst possible tragedy and a nightmare for D Twice and his family. There'ss no rhyme or reason to these events, no possible justification to why this had to happen. It feels inadequate to say that I am so incredibly sorry, for D Twice, his wife, his family, and his beautiful boy, Zachary. No one deserved this. As you've all probably read by now, Zachary's was a long struggle, and he has shown more bravery than any of us will ever know.
What strikes me as a complete slap in the face is how his struggle, and service, will eventually end in a $$dollar$$ value. Of every loved one I personally lost, I have always been disgusted by this one element.
This is why we ask for your donation. My stance is that if there's anything that we - as a community - can do to help D Twice in this tragedy... even if it's just to help cover a single medical payment or service cost... well that's a pretty damn easy choice to make. As far as I'm concerned, how much, or how little you give doesn't matter. The bottom line is that we're a great community, and we will do what all great communities do - we help our own.
I want to thank Davem3 TF, and ChangeAgent for giving us this opportunity. You're both the collective "Man."
But I especially want to thank PSonic. He really took the reigns on this one... did all the leg work, made all the contacts. I think there;s a really good chance that he's the offspring of both Ghandi and Mother Theresa. D Twice, Patrick here is pretty much living proof that you're not alone.
And of course, members of 3v, thank you.
Again, for what it's worth D Twice, I'm sorry.
PS: my grammar sucks.
PPS: If you're interested, please get the word out. Let your watchers, and friends know about this |

| Thanks Mango for the heads-up. I hadn't known. D TWICE and his family can count on many prayers from me and mine. I have a 1-year old son and should God ever call him home so early it would break my heart. We at 360voice are all behind you, D TWICE. |

I will be adding this and please expect a donation comming tonight/tomorrow.
As a new father I can't imagine what you are going through and what you have already endured. I lost my brother when I was in high school which was a tremendously difficult thing to cope with and I still can't imagine what my parents went through. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. |

When my son Ben(GT:Ben Jammin TF) was hit by a car about 7 years ago, my wife Jodie(GT:Mrs. Davem3TF) and I were very scared.
he did heal and regain total use of his leg(s) again, but after that parents who lose their kids or have tragic events happen to them has hit a soft spot for me.
heck in the * **** pediatrics ward Ben was in a few of my buddies, my dad and i went in and rewired the entire ward so the kids had DVD capabilities which was a huge upgrade for them from the VHS system (which ate tapes constantly) they had and all the equipment and labor was done for nada.
i used a channel plus 3V multiplexer to shoot out 3 DVD's on 3 different unused channels at the same time. and the nurses had a board as to what movies were currently being shown and the upcoming list :-)
the cable TV was free in that section of the hospital, but 7 channels does not cut it with kids at all.
heck we had one company donates PS2's and X boxes for the kids........... it went well and the feeling we had after was really awesome ..........
the really funny part was bringing 4 projection TV's through the front door and having Security going bananas over the whole thing.
when we told them what was going on, they gladly helped out with everything.....
at the end of it all we had over 1000 DVD's donated through the message board we set up for that purpose.
as far as i know, that group is still up and running??
So, yes this hits hard for my wife and I.
Although Ben was hurting very badly, we knew he was going to get better, unlike some of those children in the ward.
So i try when i can to help out in any little way possible .........
the 4 projection screen TV's were made into mobile gaming stations that could be rolled from room to room so the kids could play and have fun while stuck there.
both of my first generations X-boxes along with all the games i had for them are still being used to this day ............ |

| I probably will not be able to donate, so I will be trying to spread his story to other forums, but those topics might be removed for linking to other sites. Before they do I hope at least one person reads it and decides they want to donate. |

At the time of this post, I have received 8 donations for a total of $125.00 (in actuality $119.06 due to PayPal fees).
Thanks to everyone that has donated thus far. I plan to update this on a regular basis. I look forward to hearing from more of you.
Sincerely,
Patrick |
