Ok with all the recent talk of badge/genre updates its time for a NEW genre thread to be current.
This is also in preparation of future genres/badges.

I'll kick this off with the two missing games that irk me:
Retro: Super Contra (because Contra is included and Super C is just as retro)
SHMUP: Undertow (played by thousands; without a doubt a shmup title)
And I'd still love to see a "shill" badge for advergames:
- Big Bumpin'
- Dash of Destruction
- Pocketbike Racer
- Sneak King
- Yaris
Oh, and add Monopoly & Uno Rush to social.

The shill badge won't work because you can't get Yaris anymore, just like you can't get Lost Cities.
I like the other suggestions though. |

this is something that wdcombo actually mentioned to me, but i really like it and i think it's worth mentioning. any chance of making yearly sports badges? games like madden/tiger/nhl/2k sports/etc with a "sports '06", "sports '07", etc badges?
i thought it would be cool to see who went after those easy 06 games, and who excelled at the 09 games for example.
just an idea i thought i would share! |

Yearly badges probably won't happen because of recent server shutdowns by 2k Sports. It's now impossible to finish some of those titles. Much more likely is removing older games from the genre badge and placing them into a "Sports Legacy" type of collection so that people get credit for having played them.

I think with the move though to a "legacy" badge we should remove the perm glitched games like NHL 2k7 and 2k8.
The others that have had server shut downs can stay as the achievements WERE possible, but are not currently. (At least the league achievements are not) |

Hey there, I know Dog had mentioned about putting RE5 in to the Survival Horror genre, which I think is agreat idea!! This genre is lacking in games and could be updated to include:
RE5
Dead Rising
L4D (which I'm sure will be put into FPS anyway)
Speaking of FPS, I always wondered why Gears of War was even in there!! should this genra then be called FP/3rdps?? (just ranting)

Left 4 Dead is already in Survival Horror.
That genre will almost always be sparse by its nature, but that's okay, not all of them have to be like FPS or Sports.. |

I always liked the idea of a I am not a Achievement Whore badge with the really hard 1k games or 200 games:
Like
DoAX
Lost Planet
Lost Planet Colonies
Ninja Gaiden 2
Perfect Dark Zero
Rumble Roses XX
Just games that are either really hard to achieve the 1k or really long to get there
Also I would love to see a 3PS and maybe a cycled out Sports badge since that will continue to grow like a unstoppable blob |

Both Lost Planets should be included somewhere -- FPS (I know it's a third-person shooter) or Action/Adventure.
Also wouldn't mind seeing Halo Wars added to Strategy and Street Fighter IV added to Fighting. |

Onechanbara should be added to the HACK/SLASH or ODDBALL
Stranglehold and Eat Lead should be add to FPS or ACTION/ADVENTURE
Tenchu Z should also be added somewhere.. ADVENTURE?
Lego anything should be added to FAMILY
All genre should have badges for playing all the games in them, (Not just Super hero and the like) How about a MASTER BADGE for playing all the games on the entire combined list!
Sorry about the L4D, I knew it was in Survival Horror (honest!) just a brain fart!! I just wanted to get in some suggestions!!
