| Music is going to take a beating next update as well depending on the cutoff for it: DJ Hero, Lego:RB, Band Hero, new Lips game. That is all I can think of but their might be more. |

| It sure will ... but at least for me it won't be such a shock. I tend to keep up on Guitar Hero and Rock Band regardless of if they're on the badge. It's all these non-band games that keep messing with my numbers. DJ Hero is actually quite fun, and I'm looking forward to getting my Lego: Rock Band in the next couple days. |

| *sigh* really? we put the Country Track Pack in? you do realize there's no quick achievements no "hit X on this song" just "Complete the game on X" ...and they put in an extra song... I could only make it through 5 before wanting to throw myself feet first into a wood chipper... |

| Yeah but notice cor we got shafted the metal track pack did not make it up there. I love my music badge. But I am not gonna play a nine year olds stupid High school the musical to keep a badge. I worked to damn hard for it and now I am getting shafted by baby games. I will do the track packs and the guitar hero 5. But I refuse to play karaoke games to me its not a music genre worthy badge. |

It's just a badge. If you don't like the game in the genre, don't play it. Simple. It's neat trying new games. I don't really like DDR, but when I tried it it was alright I guess. Not great but not bad. Try HSM. If you don't like it, then don't play it. You've played Avatar, although probably only for a few minutes, that's much more of a kiddie game then HSM. And I hate HSM. |

| I know but when I think of a music I think of picking up a plastic guitar and a plastic drum kit and actually doing music. Not picking up a mic and singing a bunch of crap. Saints Row is just stressing me out to much and its making me irritable. |

Absolutely, you're still creating music, with music. The genre does need a split. The badges are suppose to reflect your style of gaming, mine does a pretty good job as I'm almost always playing either a rhythm or FPS. But I have lost the rhythm badge a few times because of stuff like HSM.. but then again, how could you split "singing" games from "dancing" games from "instrument" games... they'd end up counting for more than one badge

I'd absolutely consider it in the music badge. I think the reason not to include it is because of the steep price of entry, but a fan of the Music genre (such as msyelf) would probably get it (like I did). |

I'm going to tell everyone that one thing is going to have to be updated on the badges. The size of them has gotten a bit stupid. Retro will be split, sports will be split, music will need to be split as there will be a good sized "singing" genre of music games.
I figured HSM 3 in there would give people an easy 1000 to put towards a difficult badge. |

| See I feel dj hero should go into it, you are using a "insturment" Even though dj's dont create music they use other artists music to create something unique for it. I think the singing genre badge would be perfect. I hate to say it but Guitar hero 5 should be the easy 1000 for the badge. I love working for my music badge. Those music games are a challenge It really is a badge you earn. Almost like the top gun badge. |

Again I am not trying to argue just want to make points. I played HSM Sing It or whatever to help out a challenge but I could see why that would be considered a music badge game. You are using something other then a joystiq (mic and hypothetically your singing voice even though a hum works wonders) to create music like you would with a plastic _______.
Does it taint the music badge, sure to some because its not hardcore but every genre has something that could be considered easy in the badge. I don't want UFC in Wrasslin' but it is because thats where they thought it should go.
Does it suck that they added a game to the badge that you don't agree with sure. Does it need to be split up YES (like Mango said a lot of them now are getting crazy and would hold back new people to the site from really getting into it). But its not..yet. If you don't want to play it cool. Or just wait it out and dont get a badge until the next update where they will add 10 more Rockband/GH/BandHero/Lego RB/Dj Hero to the genre.
Oh and Dj Hero should be in the genre as well. Its one of the games that I really want to play and would love to get my hands on but the cost won't allow me yet. |
