If this topic is already handled, then I apologize. My issue is precisely with Dynasty Warrior 6. I was aiming to get that Hack'n'Slash badge and started that game and what do you know, it's European version, which is not tracked.
Why?
Could it be really impossible to program so, that if user have played more than one version of certain game, only game with highest gamerscore is tracked toward badges?
Has there been any other suggestions? And no, getting different localized version of console or game is not really practical solution. |

| I don't see why it would be so hard to only track it more than once, but allow more than 1000 gamerscore to go towards the badge since it can be imported. |

It actually is impossible given the current system. This was attempted with Eragon and it ended up breaking the badge database on a fairly regular basis. Some days it would count as the PAL version, others the NTSC version with no real rhyme or reason for the chages.
Given that experience, only NTSC games will count for badges. |

| So, pretty much all other regions are out of luck and have much harder time to motivate pursuit those badges, until someone has time to put some effort developing this wonderful community. |

The PAL Badge we had outlined was *only* PAL titles. The issue is when multiple versions exist of the same title. Which again, barring a breakthrough, will not be happening as it broke the whole system last time around.

I'm confused, what exactly is the problem when taking the gamerscore for a PAL region game and putting it towards an NSTC game?
Is there some hidden data you're taking rather than just the game name itself? |

| Yeah, there's more then just the name. The actual game data streams get crossed like the photon packs in Ghostbusters, and the result is the destruction of the badge system. |

Since all the games I bought are PAL versions, but only certain titles causes problems with badge system, when at the same time they are correctly gathered on a another site makes me believe there's some kind of ID in that data stream, which could be used to separate titles from each other (and later to manipulate them together for badge use).
Surely I've missed something obvious, otherwise I'm sure that wise minds behind the curtains would have fixed this flaw already. |

If you're referring to TrueAchievements tracking of games, then yes, it really could be the data feed since TA does not use it, being an unofficial site, while 360v is an official site, slave to the data feed from MS.
The large maintenance this past summer? That was the guys installing the game IDs into the system, which was supposed to have fixed the issue, but it didn't. Each game does have their own separate game ID put in by the data feed but it still won't show properly, or rather, it won't show properly all the time. Eragon was flipping from PAL to NTSC and back again, which was just...weird...

| Just a quick follow up. NTSC and PAL versions of certain games causes problems in 360voice, but apparently not in mother site gamerdna, where for example Dynasty Warrior 6 is registered only once. That makes me think that there something completely different how these sited gathers data (I thought they used mainly same components) or there's no more plans to develop this site (which is understood, with all other stuff these guys have going on). |

I don't think Microsoft knows/thinks its a problem. They may just blow it off as a amateur coding flaw. |
