| Aww, I wanted to see the others, because it looks like it'll be quite a battle for 2nd and 4th-10th still have a shot at making it to the top 3. |

| Either Tuesday or Weds will be the start of a period of free time for me, so I'll finally be able to make some progress in this outside of Skyline. It's not my priority this year since I already won once and this year's pretty much over before I can truly begin due to family issues and poor timing, but I'll definitely be finishing in some place be it 2nd or 63rd. |

Done! Still haven't "opened" shmup, only one I haven't yet scored points in. I went "over" in Hack & Slash, Party, Sci-Fi Shooter, Strategy, and WRPG, reporting the scoring in the individual games but just 1000 for the total, as that's all that counts. Though at some point while I was playing through my speed-run on hard for Velvet Assassin I got disconnected from Xbox Live and didn't notice. I hate having achievements without timestamps.
Anyway, here's the list...
1000 Action Shooter (820 Paintball 2009, 150 Iron Man, 30 Vanquish) 1000 Action/Adventure (1000 Green Lantern) 1000 Brick (1000 Lego Indiana Jones 2) 1000 Card & Board (1000 Family Game Night 3) 180 Console Classics (130 Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, 50 Crazy Taxi) 1000 Extreme Sports (730 Amped 3, 270 Tony Hawk's American Wasteland) 1000 Family (1000 Toy Story 3) 150 Fighting (150 Tekken 6) 395 Fitness (395 Jillian Michaels' Fitness Adventure) 1000 Hack & Slash (800 Ninety-Nine Nights, 205 Ninja Blade) 1000 Historic Shooter (665 Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, 335 Call of Duty: World at War) 1000 JRPG (1000 Enchanted Arms) 1000 Karaoke/Rhythm (1000 Disney Sing It) 1000 Modern Shooter (615 Battlefield: Bad Company 2, 355 Homefront, 30 Battlefield: Bad Company) 1000 Oddball (1000 Pimp My Ride) 1000 Party (790 Scene It? BOS, 310 Kinect Adventures) 90 Platformer (90 Outland) 1000 Point & Click (1000 NCIS) 55 Puzzle (55 Ilomilo) 1000 Race (1000 Need For Speed: Most Wanted) 135 Retro (135 Xevious) 1000 Rockstar (480 Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, 470 Lego Rock Band, 50 Guitar Hero: Aerosmith) 1000 Sandbox (570 Just Cause, 380 Just Cause 2, 50 Red Faction: Guerrilla) 1000 Sci-Fi Shooter (1010 Brink) 1000 Sports (1000 NHL 2K6) 1000 Stealth (1000 Velvet Assassin) 1000 Strategy (905 The Outfit, 100 Viva Pinata) 1000 Survival Horror (1000 Saw) 1000 Top Gun (850 Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII, 150 MySims Sky Heroes) 1000 Wrestling (1000 Smackdown vs Raw 2008) 1000 WRPG (885 Hunted: The Demon's Forge, 120 Dragon Age: Origins) 26005 Total
Clearly I pushed harder than I needed to, but I figured this was my best chance at ever getting a Gold Medal badge, and now I think I'll be the first person to have all 3 medal badges, so that's nice, too. Now I just need to decide which of Facial Le Fleur's bonus bites challenges I want to aim for...or if I want to just say screw it, not try for those and go back to gaming normally.
Looking forward to an exciting battle for 2nd & 3rd place! Smrnov and Chunkeh may be a bit ahead of everyone else at this point, but some of the folks behind them look to be closing that gap! |

Making sure my wife wouldn't want to leave me was the main reason I didn't finish in April...it's why the weekends tended to be my lowest-scoring time, as she was around the whole time and so I couldn't spend as much time gaming as she wanted to do things and go places with me.
It probably helped, both for the sake of our marriage and the competition, that April is a month when college admissions officials like her have a lot of college fairs and such to go to, so there were a number of evenings when I was playing longer and later than I would have were she in town.
And she did help me get the "all stages done in co-op" in Kinect Adventures, and helped a bit in Family Game Night 3, and when her family was visiting our nephew (her sister's son) played the 2nd player in Green Lantern. And she helped me figure out what I was doing wrong with one of the exercises that wasn't registering in Jillian Michaels' Fitness Adventure. And she played some Lego Rock Band with me (though there weren't any co-op achievements we got, just that she does like the music games sometimes).
That said, and as amazingly supportive as she's been, she'll be glad that this is done now. |

I really thought this sentence was going to end with a 'because chicks dig badges' joke. Why must you disappoint me so?
Mucho congrats! Well done. |

Congrats Skydude. This should indeed make you either the first or tied for first to get all three medals depending on who finishes 2nd/3rd. Of course, if the Buffet goes on until June then the Party contest winners could still take the honor from you even though you technically earned it first. I had to wait several months for Chunkeh to finish 3rd before I got credit for finishing 1st last year =(
As I thought, you finished before my life settled down enough to let me really get started. I'm just surprised that it was literally the day before my week off. I'll be putting up a few thousand this week, but I haven't decided if I really want to bother catching up or just focus on other stuff while finishing the Buffet casually. |

Even if I don't get awarded it until others finished, I still won the 1st place medal before anyone else won the last one they were missing, so that's good enough for me (as it really is just a personal satisfaction thing, nothing actually to be gained by being the first to have all three).
I think you should put up a lot, try to catch up. With as far as Chunkeh and Smrnov still have to go, you still have time to get one of the top 3 places, even...and even if not, the winner should put up a good showing. I know I'll hope to go for 3rd next year (so I can have finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the same event)...though I certainly won't be going for it as much as I went after 1st this year!
...just don't quote me on that one, as that could change in a year, and I remember saying I was retiring from challenges after the HERBIE (or at least, after finishing up getting 30 challenge wins shortly after the HERBIE), and look what happened. (quote from last year shortly before I finished 2nd: "I'll sign up for next year's, but a top 10 finish, let alone a top 3 one, will be unlikely." and I meant it at the time)
Incidentally, since I didn't note it in my original "finished" post, special accolades go to the games that I scored points in for both last year's Buffet challenge and this one:
Iron Man (850 last year, 150 this year) Tekken 6 (850 last year, 150 this year) Battlefield: Bad Company (45 last year, 30 this year) Ilomilo (95 last year, 55 this year) Lego Rock Band (250 last year, 470 this year) |

| Congrats, I was thinking of going for first this year (even stockpiled a lot of games for it), but glad I didn't after seeing your performance. Pretty sure there is no chance I would have beat you. |

Hahah, maybe I will break out a few uncharacteristically easy games to close the gap with encouragement like that. My ratio has actually gone up from 1.66 to almost 1.69 since the start of the Buffet, so clearly I've been playing games that aren't quick points and can spare a few that are...
Anyway, congrats again! You out-shone everyone in dedication this year. It was a well-deserved win! |

| Congrats Skydude, very impressive to put up that may points that quickly, that was what, around 800 points a day? Plus doing it with a specific set of games, good job. |

Now the battle for second =)
And possibly a battle for 3rd as well! Looks like some of the other top 10 folks are speeding up a bit.
I'm not sure what the most painful game I played was. Some of them were quite fun (like last year, I had a surprising amount of fun with wrestling), but others, like Pimp My Ride and Disney Sing It, were just bad. Jillian Michaels' Fitness Adventure was painful too, but it was a good kind of painful. |
