Forza Motorsport 2 is a Racing Simulation game exclusively for the Xbox 360, it is above all an impressive Racing Simulator out there. With a slick coat of next-gen goodness right out of the box, it has a seemingly endless amount of customization features, a incredibly well built online system and a solid single player experience. It is welcome to all users, with a difficulty setting that you may change to which ever suits you best. As far as the difficulty settings go, you are able to change the Suggested Line, which is a line which warns you to brake and get off of the gas, Anti-Lock Braking, Traction, Stability, Shifting, even the A.I. Difficulty can be changed from Easy, Normal, or even Hard. You can also adjust whether or not you want the damage to take a huge toll on your car when hit, finally you are able to adjust if you’d like fuel/tire wear to have an affect on your car. However, if you do choose to turn some of these settings off, it will change dramatically how much money you will earn per race. If you turn some of the difficulty settings up, then you have an opportunity to earn much more money then you would of earned compared to having the settings on default.
As for as paintjobs go, there is unlimited possibilities to tweak out your ride into a sleek pimp-mobile. Not only are the paintjobs sweet, but the variety of decals and manufacturer logos to choose from add for a totally customizable system. If you’ve played Need For Speed Underground and loved how you could totally customize out your ride, then you’ll love Forza 2. But not only are the features regarding paintjobs and decals cool, you can also soup your ride up. You can buy new engines, exhaust, brakes, etc. and the best thing about it is, you don’t even have to know anything about cars to make your ride fast. Its pretty self-explanatory, you simply highlight what you’d like to add to your ride, on the right hand corner is a slider which indicates how much it will increase your cars statistics.
The online capabilities for Forza 2 are simply amazing, not only are you able to race others around the world over Xbox Live, but you’re able to auction off your car over Xbox Live. Set up your starting bid, then you are able to choose if you’d like to “Buyout” which allows people to buy the car immediately with out bidding and then waiting to bid again. You can also choose how long the bid will last, you can even lock the car design so people won’t be able to steal your design on your car. A feature that is welcomed is being able to “Gift” a car to someone over Xbox Live. You can give someone a car over Live, for say instance for their birthday or something. A cool feature indeed.
The single player aspect of Forza 2 is decent, but fun. Plenty of races to complete, so little time. Damage and other aspects of Forza 2 are realistic, I was shifting my car on a straight away, on the turn I down shifted and I over-revved it which hurt the transmition. Small features like this make Forza 2 an amazing Racing Simulation game. But over all the single player is fun but not great, online blows this out the water. However, in order to be able to dominate over Live you must play single player to earn money and buy new cars. The tracks seem a little dull at times and repetitive, but the awesome game play makes up for it. Presentation: 9.0 A straight forward menu system. Simple to navigate through.
Graphics: 8.5 The graphics in Forza 2 are stellar, but looking outside of the background on the tracks looks quite bland. The car models are amazing, the cars look incredible, slick and look like they are real.
Sound: 9.5 The sound affects are immensely amazing, sound good, just like the real thing. Sound even better with surround sound.
Gameplay: 9.0 A long single player and a fun multiplayer capability. And also adding the thousands of customization features to the game.
Overall Rating: 9.0 One of the best Racing Simulation games out to date. A realistic perspective of how a true racing game should be. Simply a fun game to play and its for all ages.

Nice review! Agree with all of it, but I have to say this: Single Player absoultely rocks in and of itself. Though online provides a more ubiquitous experience, the single player is not to be scoffed at. Given all of the add-ons that come with the Live experience, yes, Live is amazing. But I can not stop racing the single player stuff. It is incredibly addictive.
