| MGS4 has been dated for March 2008, but of course that can change at any time. If sony doesn't get there act together soon, there is a good amount of time to make and release an xbox version of the game. |

Sony today announced that MGS4 will be the last of the series, and still ps3 exclussive. that musta cost them a pretty penny.
then again, MGS2 was supposed to be the last MGS... Konami and Sony are pretty inconsistant |

I'm hoping it still will. I won't give up holding out for it until Hideo Kojima himself states clearly "It will NEVER be on the 360" Then I'll accept it, but not a moment sooner

We might not get MSG4, but I'll bet we'll get the Substance version when it comes out. Which you know it will.

You know, I pray as much as the next person that Metal Gear comes out on the 360.
But the truth is alot of people are waiting to buy a PS3 when this game comes out.
So in March I see Sony jumping ahead a half million units sold.
But, if the game doesn't draw them in and Konami has to recoup some money. Then I could see a port becoming available. |

Nothing to do with Sony or Konami in making that statement before; it's all been Kojima, he has health issues, especially when working on a MGS game, his health drops further due to focusing on the game. I'm sure Konami had a bit to do with having him do 3 and 4 plus probably his want to complete the story. This will be the last story for Snake and last one made by Kojima, the series will probably continue on with a new character as lead as well as producer (perhaps if Meryl lives through 4, it'll be her, since it looks like she's the lead of FOXHOUND) but as we know it now, the end is neigh! |

ya... I always thought that the series could be greatly improved if they just dumped Snake and david hayter. I also always thought a female character might be a nice replacement... as long as they didn't make her as whiney as Rose or half of the female cast ever introduced to the mgs series.... is it just me or is kojima a misogynist?
Dunno... a character like.... this could be cool. |

It still might be released for the 360. You never know. If it is on the 360 then it won't be until after the ps3 release.

But that's what they WANT you to do...by NOT doing this then we have a greater chance of it coming to 360 and not wasting (and I use that word with full meaning) a lot of money on a console for one game!

| I think it'll get to 360 sooner or later. You can't argue the fact that 360's are selling and has a lot of people on it that would love to play MGS4. Its all about making money so I think they'll do what's smart and make a port for us 360 owners because in my opinion, the PS3 still isn't worth spending the money for. Even if it is MGS4. One game isn't enough. |

Well, that's good for you. For me, I'm not spending $500+ just to play one game. I held off on getting a 360 for almost a full year until some good games came out. I'll be doing the same with a PS3. I think the only console that I bought pretty quickly was the Dreamcast because it had Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur, Power Stone, Ready 2 Rumble, and Marvel vs. Capcom. It was worth it.
When I finally got a 360 there were a few games that I wanted to play like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Tomb Raider Legend, Rumble Roses XX, Dead Rising, NBA 2K7, and Gears of War came out about 2 months later. It was worth it.
The only reason I can think of to buy a PS3 right now is Ninja Gaiden Sigma. That game is great, but its not worth paying over $500 for right now. Backwards compatibility is also a plus for the PS3, but I already own 2 PS2's (modded and unmodded). I don't need to buy a PS3. But I'm not knocking the people that bought one, I'm just saying that its not for me right now. |

| I heard that the PS3 was going to have something like achievements pretty soon. My friend keeps going on about getting trophies and stuff. Maybe they'll have an update that'll allow some kind of achievements, because if there's a game on PS3 right now that deserves them its Sigma. That game is tough. |
