Fixed something in the XML parsing. Now shows "Offline", instead of "Presence unknown" if the XML parser detects you're Offline. :)
Ok, I have a stable release for everyone to play with, though the installation is for the slightly advanced windows users....
Download v1.0: 360surface MSN addin
In that zip file is a readme for instructions.. This was done in a hurry, so if there are any questions left, contact me on MSN or post here.

Lol same thing for me, none of my friends own a 360 and my friends think I play on my 360 too much as it is. But I'll probably still use it just cuz it looks really cool lol |

I really don't know.. As far as I know it definately works from 8.0 till now (I'm using 8.1.0178)
I'll test it when I'm back from holidays :)

| I can't seem to get it to work. I've reset the comp wice and re-downloaded it but I always seem to get the error message "Failure initializing gacutil" when I click on install.bat :( |

I asume there's a gacutil.exe and gacutil.exe.config in the folder where you extracted the files?
If that's the case, you might want to download .net framework 2.0, and perhaps 3.0.
.net framework 2.0 (which you need for sure) is here.
Let me know how that works out.. |

Bug identified: Gamertags with spaces in the name (sorry He) aren't working at the moment :(

@mightymango: that doesn't matter, you enter the desired gamertag in the options, your msn account doesn't need to be associated with Xbox Live at all..
(yes, this means you can enter someone else's gamertag, but all it does is show their online status and last played games, same as you can see on many many websites)
So just install it in your current msn, and enter your gamertag in the optionscreen, as described in the readme.. |

Ok, turned out it had nothing to do with spaces in names..
I tried with your name He, and it works fine overhere.. Turned out the XML api I created couldn't handle special chars like & and '
