Ok so I got to thinking it would be nice to able to size up your competition before a challenge - or maybe even during a challenge....so I started cranking out some ideas and came up with what i like to call the "Challenge Scout"
Essentially you provide Your gamertag, and also your opponents and through a super secret super accurate 15 page algorithm (ok thats a bit exagerated...) it churns out the favorites of who is likely to win the challenge. Would be interesting to see how accurate it can be - if at all.
I call it beta because i just whipped it together real quick, and the formula for deciding who is likely to win probably could use some serious tweaking. It is also very basic, and rather ugly, but that's how i roll yo!
Its also rather ugly but functional as far as my testing has gone so far - but i havent done a HUGE number of gamertags or anything.
Give it a try, tell me what you think, and if you win a challenge because of my scout tool - I won't even ask for a portion of the proceeds :)

| Man squid... you never cease to amaze me! This is fantastic. Fatty and I have talked about creating "match making" for the challenges. This is practically that! Freakin' sweet man. |

Just playing man its good! if its just between Syn and I it has me coming out on top...
though easy point additions would be Kong and TMNT.
Played through Kong today for 1k between 5.5 hours
TMNT last week... 2hr 46min for 1k
EDIT: TMNT was about 3 1/2, forgot I was having router issues and dropped offline for a while |

im still messing with the formula for rankings so it might change often for a bit - i will probably post what i consider "valid" data changes which should raise your chance of winning a challenge, and possible items that should lower your chances when i get a better idea what i want the formula to be, and im sure it will get updated a billion times after that - glad you like it though!
as far as the easy games, those are definately easy ones, so i probably will add them to the list i just threw some together to test that functionality to start actually LOL

Nice tool Squid...
I always thought you could run some stats on the liveeye data and find the easy games by hours spent vs max gamerscore or 1000 gs. Like how many hours the average person spends on TMNT, 2k6 games, etc...
There's probably a correlation from gamerscore vs. hours spent playing xbox... Over a 30 day challenge, I would think hours played would be as big of a factor as available easy games... |

yeah i actually had that in mind, but sometimes people play offline and skew the numbers a bit so you have to make sure that there is enough data to back it up etc - but yeah thats a great way to find "easy" games...maybe i should start looking so i can use them for my challenge! :) |

for those of you that care, here is the general basis of the formula, perhaps you have some other ideas to tweak it some....
the items are weighted as well so yes, a streak isnt worth the same value as 30 days score increase for example
the following things give score to the users (most to the person top of the list, and lower for the lower people on the list when sorting based on the value in question)
Current Streak +
Max Streak +
Thirty Day Gain +
Score Left for games played +
win vs total challengecount +
overall average gamerscore gain +
most easy score used -
thats the factors for the formula at the moment. |
