I know our forum has a post count on how much we post but here lately I think I post more in comments than I do here in the forums.
Is it possible to show everyone their total comment post count?
It might get people to turn it on who don't have it on.
As far as the mass posting goes though, I don't know if that could be considered one post or not but I'm sure it would be a topic of discussion since if you have a big watch list, one mass post would really raise your count up. Which doesn't bother me since you've earned that many watchers, ya deserve it if ya put one out to get all those counted. |

| I think I recall this being suggested around the time that comments were added to the blogs. If I recall correctly, they aren't totalled into any kind of post count because then that would require a login to post comments. As things are right now, anyone can post comments whether they are members or not. |

Couldn't they just do a query on actual members who have login's that are logged in?
change asked where, so I'm thinking it might be possible from his response. |

Oh, its always possible. Its just a matter of implementing additional code, as well as making the decision that you don't want to allow non-members to post comments. I think this could go either way.
Personally, I'm happy with the system as it is now, but I DO see some other "benefits" of requiring logins (like, no more posting crap anonymously to stir stuff up - there would be more accountability for ones comments).
I would rather see a PM system get implemented before we start tracking comments. [shrugs] |

yea, requiring a login would be beneficial for sure.
I had to delete comments outta my challenge thread today because of how inappropriate they were. 8( |

I used to be totally against requiring a Login to comment... the "commenting community" just wasn't there to support it... with the amount of Active Members that we have now though... I wouldn't hate it so much and would love to see the comments being tallied. Excluding Mass Messages of course... 20 Messages at once would boost that number weird.
Also, I don't think the link should be in Bragging Rights... unless you move the Forum from "Links and Community"... they should be together if the stat is posted. |

everything under the links and community has a link to something though. what would you link it to?
that was my original thought till I looked at it and it didn't fit in quite right. |

Separated won't bother me when I look at it that way... move the Forum Stat... or don't.
