Hey all! Are you a completionist? and/or can't decide what to play? Let my script pick it!

it's a random game picker from your play history on 3v that weighs its choice on your completion percentages. It also ignores games now not "owned" in your profiles Game Listing.
Let me know if you come across any errors, thoughts, etc. alpha version
To explain how it works, I define weighted as:
Weighted = a higher likelihood that a less complete game will be chosen by how many times it gets listed in the temporary random database, ie: 0-25% = 4 times, 26-50% = 3 times, 51-75% = 2 times, 76-99% = 1 time, 100% = 0.
You can call it directly with

Other options
t : Type - will chose from any if left out
1 for retail
2 for arcade
3 for GFWL
o : Option - defaults to weighted if left out
c for clean, if you just want a random non-complete game and don't want it weighted
r for true random, if you just want a random game, completed or not.
i : Ignore - only chooses games listed as "owned" on 3v if not supplied
1 to ignore ownership options on 3v
sg : Show Genres - optional, hides genres if not listed
1 to show genre specific randoms

if I wanted to choose a non-weighted random retail game
Or one of my alts doesn't have any "owned" games in the profile game listing, so I had to override it to pull a random game for him :

To-do List:
- add the ability to ignore titles
- add the ability to add a super weight to a title (rented games, something you may want to focus on more)
Currently game overrides :
'Pinball FX2' overrode to arcade
'Game Room' overrode to arcade (thanks to AxGryndr)
'Pocketbike Racer' overrode to retail
'Big Bumpin'' overrode to retail
'Sneak King' overrode to retail
'AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band' overrode to retail
'Rock Band Classic Rock' overrode to retail
'Rock Band Country Pack' overrode to retail
'Rock Band Country Pack 2' overrode to retail
'Rock Band Metal Pack' overrode to retail
'Rock Band Song Pack 2' overrode to retail
'Tinker' overrode to GFWL (thanks to MLC2074)
'Where's Waldo' overrode to GFWL
'World of Goo' overrode to GFWL
'Xbox LIVE Labs' weighted to 0 (since 0/0gs = 0% complete was incorrectly weighted at 4)
'Guitar Hero VIP Pass' is ignored (thanks to Buckswana)
'Halo Waypoint' is ignored (thanks to Buckswana)
'Rock Band Music Store' is ignored (thanks to Buckswana)
'Destination: Arcade' is ignored
2012-05-01 : Added GFWL randoms (may need to force a data pull to work correctly) other slight adjustments, 'Game Room' overrode to arcade and made the buttons dynamic; if you don't have more than 1 game not completed in a certain game type the button will not show to pick a random for it. Added 'Tinker', 'Where's Waldo', and 'World of Goo' to GFWL overrides.
2012-05-04 : Added genre random abilities :)
2012-05-07 : Added links to x360a and TA for achievement details; it's not perfect as there are some naming inconsistencies between the sites (most notably with x360a). But 95% will link out correctly. |

Odd as those only have 1-2 weight to them, may need to look into making it more random, but that could timeout if someone like say the mightiest fruit were to use it lol

Yeah, took friggin forever (I'm a bad procrastinator)
A challenge like that would have to be on the honor system as I don't save results, but maybe that's something we can look into a little further down the road, people in the challenge get 1 random per day and it's locked in the DB.

lol sucks but that seems correct as a 0% game has a full weight, but that's what the ignore function will be for, so it won't pick a game you really REALLY don't want to play (or don't own anymore)

Updated
+ Option to force refresh data (wouldn't do another pull if data was < 24hrs old)
+ Option to limit to Retail
+ Option to limit to XBLA
+ Option to do a clean random for Retail and XBLA
+ Randoms chosen by "owned" games in your profiles Game Listing
+ Flag to ignore above "owned"
So to explain the difference between weighted and clean options:

Clean = a random number chosen from your game list
Also limiting to "owned" games is currently in debate as I'm not sure everyone is anal like me and keeps up on that option in 3v?
Seemed like the quicker way to set it up so it ignores games one does not currently have because I'm debating some stuff as far as the ignore list goes since I'm not currently using authentication, anyone can make changes to an ignore list for a profile... |

| First choice was Halo Waypoint, which doesn't have achievements, lol. Don't know if you can pull it or the other things like it (Guitar Hero/Rock Band store, etc.) from your database. Doesn't help that I have very few uncompleted games. |

Could you possibly add in an option to add games? I have like 150 ish I have yet to put in my disc tray.
Also, another thing that would be cool would be to turn on/off DLC as some people (sometimes myself included) don't buy DLC for games they have the full 1k on.

Could, as it would be included in the "super weight" for rented titles, etc, though I had moved away from doing that since I basically put the ignore options and stuff like that on the shoulders of your profiles game page, saves me from having to come up with an authentication protocol so no one else can mess with your ignored titles (and/or manually added games). But it is an idea... I can always pull a game dropdown list from 3v *ponders*
Unfortunately this one I don't see how without adding each game manually on my side (and adding time to update) as I'm using 3v's data and it cannot differentiate. I could add an argument to stip all games down to 200 for arcade and 1k for retail titles... though there will be anomalies.. and with the changes to XBLA I think this is instantly broke with the 400 starting gamerscore..
Which reminds me, I need to set the code that anything under 969 is arcade... (I think besides for the overrode BK's and the RB games that Condemned is the lowest retail with 970) |

| Isn't Game Room arcade and it is 1000? Also pinball fx2 is 1400. I don't think a 969 limit would be the right way to do that. |

There's a list of games that break the rule that have overrides on the original post, PFX2 is one of them (and the BK and Rock Band track packs break the rule the opposite way).
I'm not familiar with Game Room, but will add it to the override.
By the way : it's similar to how 3v decides what is what as well (by gamerscore) I believe, that's why Pocketbike Race is listed on 3v as arcade and Pinball FX2 as retail, but open to suggestions if there's a better way to go about this. |

Can't decide what to play to get your genre badge to the next level? BLAM! There's an app for that! ...well... option for that!
Plan on cleaning it up and getting rid of options that result in no matches, currently if you have a genre listed on your tag by owned games the genre options show up for all available devices. So me for example: Rockstar, I only have retail titles in that genre but since I have XBLA and GFWL games also (in general) the options show up; Ferun on the other hand has retail Rockstar but also only has XBLA registered, options only show up for retail and XBLA (GFWL+ hidden). |

OK, so thinking through this webapp
A: I'm a programmer, not a designer... any suggestions for changes you'd like to see layout-wise?
B: I've been thinking about the whole adding games not listed on your profile and adding a "ignore" list (along with a flag for making something 5x weight). But it comes down to I don't want other people to be able to mess with something that someone spent time on (as in anyone could put in your tag and change stuff). I'm not comfortable coming up with a login for the site since I don't have (and can't afford at the moment) SSL, nor am I really comfortable asking for your 3v key without it either. But that could just be me, are users comfortable with putting their 3v key into a non-secure site? |

a little late, but this is really good! nice job...
i noticed the "A" for suggestions to layout changes... i've been using Bootstrap by Twitter for all of my sites... its simple and all the tooling for sexiness is there...

Most of the cool javascript techniques i picked up from there... but you almost dont even ever have to use any... You really just need to know your HTML, some light CSS and you can pick up the javascript as it comes since youre already a programmer...
