| From what I read it is just going to be a MMO component. That can be anything. I still think with the characters, story, and combat system it will be a good game to have. But, it probably won't be here anytime soon. No reason to get excited about it when other games are coming out in the next couple months. |

I was really eager to hear news on this game, but to even here MMO is disheartening. Let's hope with an emphasis on the word "component" that it wont be a full fledged MMO.

| I'm actually not all that excited for ME2, I'd rather see Bioshock 2! |

| I'd much rather they made Mass Effect into an mmorpg IMO... because... say what you will about Mass Effect, but the story and mythos is so much better than anything star wars related. |

Well yeah. Mass Effect just borrows stuff, usually the best stuff, from a bunch of different sources including Star Wars. |

Well there's that... but the reason that I really liked Mass Effect's mythos is because it was very tightly nit... this wasn't Star Trek and green aliens, this was a very well thought out, complex list of characters, and very realized species.
really in the end, you don't need to have just a bunch of weird aliens and neat space ships to have good sci fi... what you need is just a well thought out hierarchy of mythos... it can be the most corney concept ever, but if you think it through, it comes off like gold.

Yup, Mass Effect just borrows from them also. They took some of the best Sci-Fi IPs and meshed them together real well |

Ufortunately, following the greatest Star Wars game ever (KOTOR) is a tough thing to do. But the KOTOR series is on a downward spiral. KOTOR II was good, but it was a rushed rehash. Throwing in MMO to KOTOR III just doesn't sound good.
This will be as bad as when Jump to Lightspeed came out for Star Wars Galaxies. |

Heh, you guys are hilarious.
Everyone in the MMO sphere and other gaming spheres are simply ecstatic for the announcement of KOTOR MMO and they've been waiting for a long time. Over here, everyone is doom and gloom :P
Bioware seems to make great games..if they can pull that off with an MMO in the Star Wars universe then that would be awesome :) |

| Honestly, it could be a great MMO. I think one of the issues people had with Star Wars Galaxies (before they pulled the rug out from everyone and made it into an entirely different game) was at first it was near impossible to be a Jedi, and then so many people were Jedi's it didn't make sense in context with the timeline. The timeline of KOTOR allows EVERYONE to be Jedi and different classes of them (as well as other classes - if for some insane reason you don't want to be a badass with a lightsaber). It could be very good if done well, and BioWare has a great track record. |

I think the big reason for that is b/c we are just different breeds!! It is like comparing apples and oranges, or mixing beer and MILK.

I'm going to guess that it's going to be a PC only game? So why call it KOTOR 3 (or is that the working title) if its going to be a MMO game that I won't be able to play on a 360. |

Why would it be PC only? Unless you're WoW, or City of Heroes/Villians, there's little to no profit to be made from a pc only game.
besides, Bioware has made heaps relying on the xbox players... they have a guaranteed fanbase, and great word to mouth... why stop now? |

| If you aren't making games for 360 then you might as well grab a cardboard box and setup shop under a bridge, because you will go broke. You can't release PC only titles much anymore and turn a BIG profit, like GTC was saying. In todays world it has to be on the 360. I am hoping for PS3 to do something great this coming year. And as I said before the key word in the announcement was "component" as it isn't going to be a full blown MMO. |

Then the terminology is wrong, they should state it as Co-Op over Xbox live, unless they are going to push (the envelope) the amount of players that can play at once during gameplay. I'm all for that then and I would love another SW game.
Having been through 3 MMOs in my life, that to me says PC only and subscription based. At $14.95 a month for 100K players is 1.5 million a month in revenue. There is faster money to be made on a console for sure, but 18 million a year is nothing to sneeze at cause you know there will a ton of people playing the game. |

| MMOs rarely fall apart and I doubt a MMO with the KOTOR name will just fade away without getting at least 5 million back. |
