Alright I got a little question about creating challenges with prizes to win.
I write for a Swiss website with the focus on achievements, guides and boosting possibilities. The community isn't huge but decent. Now I wanted to start challenges on here. While it's for our community I don't want to exclude the wonderful members of this site.
My question is: Am I allowed to post who sponsored the prizes (our site or the publishers we get the prizes from) or is not? I won't plaster the forums with endless advertisements. More in the vein of "Thanks to xyz for providing prize abc".
I really want to open these challenges to everyone but if something like this isn't allowed I won't do it. |

I do that all of the time with my company. If we provide the prizes for an event then we put a shameless plug on there.
I think the only no-no would be to host a challenge here and require someone to sign-up on a different website. If the entire challenge is hosted here then giving a shout out to the prize sponsor is no big deal.
I am not official or anything to approve this. Just talking from experience when I have sponsored events in the past. |

No you saw that right, signing up to the challenge here is everything that I/we will require.
Like I said just giving a shout-out to our site, a member of our team or a publisher. Whoever sponsored it in the end.
I also don't think that that many people from our community will sign-up to 360v and that's another reason why I want to open it up to everybody who wants to. |

Honestly, the biggest question would be size and scope.
Some local shop throwing down $50 giftcards is likely not an issue.
A Best Buy sponsoring thousands of dollars of prizes would need to be handled through the site owners, as there would be certain legal issues to take care of ahead of time. |

It would be awesome to have prizes that big but we'll keep the bigger stuff for our own site. I guess you know that traffic is important.
I'm talking more about stuff like codes for arcade games, MSP, add-ons or exclusive stuff like avatar clothes/pre-order codes.
If its going well we could throw in goodies like t-shirts, art books or whatever we have in stock. Or even some promotional copies of games. It really depends on what we are given by the publishers.
But to see how it goed I'd start with something like an arcade game. I don't want to go crazy with prizes when no one cares about the challenges. |
