I did the Gamestop thing more during the HERBIE than here, but I rotated between 4 stores which were getting returns when so as not to actually come off as suspicious. :P Unless they looked at my Powerup activity, of course... |

I've never done the Gamestop return dealio but I do check Redbox a good bit. Like Fsh, I rarely see anything useful. There are games in it I wouldn't mind playing, it's just that most aren't "Skyline-worthy" games.
Like Facial, I've spent a ****load on games, bought a WP7 and a bunch of games for it, around $150 on MS points, etc. I already had a kinect sensor and have been trying to rent most of those games instead of buying since my kinect setup isn't ideal and using it is somewhat of a frustrating PITA. I think the only two I actually bought were Adventure Camp and Penguins of Madagascar.
I would have a good bit in shipping since I've shipped approximately 20 games to teammates but I ship those from the office, more or less costing me nothing. The only one I actually paid to ship was the Udraw Tablet and games to Doug and we got boned on that deal. I went to the UPS shipping center and they filled out all the paperwork, charged me $39.86 and sent me on my way. Then Doug receives it and HE has to pay an additional $40. I should probably go back to the shipping center and raise hell but I'm not very good at giving people a hard time...even when they screw up.
It's all been money well spent though. I'm close enough to my 200k goal that I can smell it. MUCH faster than I would have been without this competition. Plus, I've racked up a bunch of completions that I likely never would have had the patience for without Skyline. Unlike most folks, my completion percentage has actually went UP. Once I go back and start doing cleanup it'll obviously go up even further.
Plus, money spent on a hobby you enjoy is money well spent..so I have no complaints in that department. |

| I have few complaints. The money spent is no big deal since a large chunk of my income goes to gaming anyway. Time spent playing is nothing new, but I'd rather be playing games I actually want to rather than HAVE to. My biggest issue is I've had little time to have a life and have actually put on a few pounds since my days off work consist of sitting around and snacking while I try complete my build. Maybe I need to do some active Kinect gaming like BoZack. :) |

I can actually see me being targeted after posting this and some of you know this already and maybe that is why I am not get targeted as much?
Anyway, Japan has a no rental policy for games. So can not rent JP games. Have to buy and even then, it is not cheap and the yen is way more than the dollar at the moment. 77 yen to the dollar.
I could gamefly, but it takes a week or so to get a game. Not really in my interest to do that and I am sure redbox would not be as helpful as some of you have mentioned.
I have spent about as much on MS points as SG Steelhead, but I do not mind so much because a lot of the arcade games/DLC I would have picked up, but I probably would have waited till they were on sale.
We do not have a gamestop here, but we have something like it on base and they do have a 7 day return policy that I have been very diligent on returning some games and keeping others because I enjoyed them and want to complete them.
The Navy Exchange does not have much of a selection and what they do, their prices compare to Walmart. So it really is not that big of a bargain.
Finally, I am going through a divorce/separation with my wife. It is not just because of gaming because she is a gamer too, but well **** happens. I still love her and she does not love me. So I got to suck that **** up. This has helped take a lot of my thinking away from that.
I go to work, to the gym and then I come home, where my wife is (because we cannot afford to live alone) and then I game. If not, I sleep and sleeping is hard to come by. I really appreciate my team mates for all their support on this and me having to go on that small hiatus before.
Other than that, this ride has been bumpy and almost as fun as the HERBIE; though at least we knew when the HERBIE was going to end. |

Thanks man but it is what is man. I know I am not the first and I will not be the last. It started a while back and probably worsened during the HERBIE, though she always said there was nothing wrong.
Just got to get past it and the gym and gaming are helping. Though on build days, the gym does take a lot out of me.
All I know is I do not need to get married again anytime soon. And those of you who are on my friend feed on TA probably know what I am talking about that I got permission to consummate with another or at least understand it now. |

My fervent hope.... I've been putting off a visit to the doctor because I know it's nothing serious, but the treatment will sideline me for a day or two. At this point in time, I can't take a day or two off from building without feeling like I'm putting undue stress on my remaining team mate. I know I have a few more weeks in me, assuming life doesn't step in and I am willing to saddle myself with far more clean up than I already have. |
