marklynx's Weekly Recap - May 20 2013
Another week, another recap... and you love me for it: If your Xbox is depressed, try playing seven days in a row like marklynx did last week. It has a way of making you a bit giddy... I feel like i'm bragging when I say our score climbed 1685 points last week... insanity! I guess that is what completing 75 achievements can do!
Out of all the possible new games we could have tried this last week, marklynx and I only tried one of them: Kung-Fu High Impact. Pretty fun I guess... Also, according to the records, marklynx's favorite game last week was Monsters Love Candy. He played it on 7 of the days.
And that is all I got... it's not much, but it is interesting.

I thought marklynx just wanted to listen to music or watch a DVD. Turns out he was there to game. With a gamer score of 212,470, I should have known that was the case. That is an increase of 75 points over last time! He opened up Monsters Love Candy acquiring 1 achievement to defeat the game, Crash Time 5 gaining 1 achievement, and oh... remember to check out my avatar. Isn't he looking awesome lately?
marklynx also wrapped up a gamerscore challenge today. Remember? Despite 5 days and nights of gaming goodness though, we couldn't take the lead and ended up finishing at number 5. But, there is always next time I guess... A special thanks to the other 9 people in the competion. Good times.

marklynx held the Xbox button on his controller down for a few seconds and our adventure began! A gamer score of 212,395 is lighting the way. That is an improvement of 285 points over last time! He rocked out to Doodle Jump, Crash Time 5 winning an amazing 12 achievements, Monsters Love Candy, and loved every minute of it in high definition glory!
Oh and it is time for a gamerscore challenge update... listen up... Follow every up and down over here. 9 other people are throwing down in this challenge. If I do the math correctly, it means that 9 players X 5 days means a whole lot of trash talk! marklynx has the number 7 spot... With only one day left though, we need to make that last big push!

marklynx must have heard my calling... I was practically startled when his greasy finger pounded my power button. I mean come on... be a little gentle... I am fragile. Just some helpful advice for someone with a 212,110 gamerscore. That is a gain of 100 points over last time! He opened up Home Run Stars, Just Dance: Disney finishing 5 achievements, Monsters Love Candy winning 1 achievement, WWE '13, Doodle Jump, Microsoft Taptiles, and oh... man was it ever sweet!

I thought marklynx just wanted to listen to music or watch a DVD. Turns out he was there to game. With a gamer score of 212,010, I should have known that was the case. That is an improvement of 420 points over last time! Welcome to 212,000!! He made some progress on Winter Stars acquiring 1 achievement to complete the game, Monsters Love Candy, Kung-Fu High Impact picking up an amazing 15 achievements to defeat the game, and then he had to stop because we both couldn't take it anymore... we were spent. In the now-you-know department, I really thought that gaming 20 days in a row would hurt... but it actually felt good... it felt warm... like butter straight out of the microwave. If I understand the rules, I think we are getting a streak badge...
And..... guess what? I will reveal the latest gamerscore challenge status to you as a matter of public record. Let me link you to the daily updates and trash talking. There are 9 other people in the chase as well... so it's pretty cool. Currently marklynx is hanging on to the number 4 spot. But, there are still 3 long days left! He played WWE '13, Monsters Love Candy, Winter Stars gaining 2 achievements, and then marklynx developed a funny twitch and went to try and sleep it off or something. Crazy humans...
Oh and it is time for a gamerscore challenge update... listen up... Don't take my word for it! See for yourself! 9 other competitors are racking up achievements and powering up their gamerscores, hoping to secure a victory! marklynx showed up yesterday and we were like a superhero team together. I make a great sidekick! Gamerscore stands at 211,550. Up up and away right? That is a gain of 720 points over last time! Another day, another milestone. The 211,000 barrier has fallen! He made some progress on Your Shape: FE 2012 finishing 3 achievements to finish the game, Home Run Stars, Kung-Fu High Impact picking up an amazing 30 achievements, WWE '13 picking up 1 achievement, Monsters Love Candy gaining 1 achievement, and then he almost hugged me, but I was like back off dude.
Oh also... marklynx has joined a gamerscore challenge titled 'Auto Challenge - #93589'. Go talk some trash.

It is hard to believe another week has passed. Here is the recap: It is a good one! marklynx had seven days of gaming! In a row! I know! Crazy! The gamerscore increase was just insane. I didn't think it would be possible to get 705 points in such a short span of time but we did. Who knew 40 achievements could be worth that much? Ok I knew that...
I was feeling a little bored last week and prodded marklynx to try a new game: Monsters Love Candy. It wasn't as cool as I thought it would be. Oh, and from what I remember, marklynx's favorite game last week was Monsters Love Candy. He played it on 6 of the days.
And that is the news for now... Check back next week... same bat time, same bat channel...

Hey, remember that challenge I was talking about a few days ago? The one called 'Auto Challenge - #93399'? It came to a close today. We scraped and clawed our way through a bunch of achievements, but fell shy of the lead, landing at number 7. Someone once said, 'Winning isn't everything.' Although, losing isn't anything. marklynx, I want you to think about this while you go sign us up for another challenge.

Like I always tell marklynx, gaming is like money... the more the better! So fill up my pockets baby! All that matters is that our gamerscore is 210,665 points and on the rise. That is an increase of 225 points over last time! He rallied Microsoft Taptiles, Your Shape: FE 2012 winning 4 achievements, Monsters Love Candy picking up 5 achievements, and after that powered me down without even saying good night. I mean what the heck?
I also want to mention/remind you that marklynx is participating in a pretty slamming gamerscore challenge. Follow every up and down over here. 9 other competitors are racking up achievements and powering up their gamerscores, hoping to secure a victory! Currently marklynx and I are on top of the challenge mountain... it's so beautiful, and high. I can see my house from here. Is that an airplane, or a space shuttle? How's the weather down there? But, there are still 3 long days left! We need to keep this lead!

You would think I had died and gone to heaven when marklynx showed up to play. Gamer score stands at 210,175. That is an improvement of 65 points over last time! He made some progress on Your Shape: FE 2012 winning 1 achievement, Monsters Love Candy gaining an amazing 8 achievements, and it's a good thing he stopped there, otherwise the concentrated awesomeness could have blown out my circuits.

He rocked out to Doodle Jump, Microsoft Taptiles, Just Dance: Disney picking up 1 achievement, Your Shape: FE 2012, and it's a good thing he stopped there, otherwise the concentrated awesomeness could have blown out my circuits. BTW, that makes 10 days in a row! I think we can all agree that high-fives are in order. If I understand the rules, I think we are getting a streak badge...

It is that time of the week. I got your weekly recap right here: Not many Xboxes can claim seven days of gaming in a row. Last week marklynx and I can... and we will... and it feels so good! Ready for this? Last week saw an increase of 4360 points! My eye almost bleeds looking at a number that large! Getting 214 achievements can do that to you. I was there. I saw it!
I feel a little spoiled getting 5 new games to play in the same week. With titles like Crash Course Go! , Cut the Rope: Exp., Disney Fairies, Fable® II Pub Games, and Your Shape: FE 2012, who can go wrong with that right? Also, I think marklynx's favorite game last week was Plants vs. Zombies. He played it on 7 of the days.
Another week finished... staring down the barrel of another one. Check back to find out what happens!

Oh hey... also... I can't even believe that the gamerscore challenge formerly-known-as 'Auto Challenge - #93211' is over. Those 5 days flew by in a whirlwind of achievements and trash talk. Guess who the big winner was? marklynx WAS!!! Can you say domination? Hopefully, we can get a rematch against the other 9 challengers and prove that this win was no fluke! Plus, it'll be fun to do this again. Keeps me active!

When you want to get on the cover of the gaming magazines, you have to play every day! I keep telling marklynx that as motivation... yesterday it worked! We went for a spin... played some games... ended with a score of 209,575. That is a gain of 1,310 points over last time! We have now entered the 209,000 GS club! He made some progress on Home Run Stars, Doodle Jump, Your Shape: FE 2012 finishing an amazing 17 achievements, Crash Course Go! gaining an amazing 10 achievements, and it's a good thing he stopped there, otherwise the concentrated awesomeness could have blown out my circuits.
Did I mention the gamerscore challenge that marklynx is competing in? If you are curious, follow along over here. If I was you, I'd subscribe to the trash talk RSS feed for this one - 9 other competitors are battling with their skills and egos. Currently, marklynx is setting the pace, though, jumping into the lead and hoping to hold on through the end of the challenge. With 2 days to go, anything can still happen though...

He played Plants vs. Zombies winning 1 achievement to master the game, Doodle Jump, Microsoft Taptiles, Kinect Nat Geo TV picking up an amazing 64 achievements to conquer the game, Home Run Stars, Kinect Joy Ride picking up 1 achievement to conquer the game, and yeah... wow... my processor hurts...
I also want to mention/remind you that marklynx is participating in a pretty slamming gamerscore challenge. There's so much action in this one, you may pay for the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge!!111! Witness the spectacle. 9 other people are mixing it up, meaning fierce competition and some creative trash talk. Current rank out of all those people is number one though. Everyone else is jealous... I feel their hate. Let's not get comfortable resting on our laurels. We've still got 3 days left and there's a lot of achievements out there for the earning.

marklynx had to choose between watching TV and playing with me and I am happy to say I won... this time... Gamerscore is at 206,220 points. That is an improvement of 470 points over last time! We have now entered the 206,000 GS club! He played Disney Fairies finishing an amazing 20 achievements to finish the game, Fable® II Pub Games winning an amazing 12 achievements to finish the game, Plants vs. Zombies, Deep Black Episode 1 winning 4 achievements to conquer the game, Home Run Stars, and I thought marklynx injured himself in the process... but I was wrong... he lives to fight another day!
Also, marklynx went and accepted a gamerscore challenge, so I'm stocking up on coffee for the overtime I'll be working over the coming days. Check it out... the challenge is called 'Auto Challenge - #93211'.
